Johnny's Bar-B-Que Reviews
I've had lunch at Johnny's BBQ only three times and intend to enjoy the menu many more times!
Hamburgers: the old fashioned way! Fresh. Good meat! Fresh vegetables!
Have dined here several times and have never been disappointed. Always walk away full and happy. Delicious food, great staff, and reasonable wait times.
We stopped at Johnnys BBQ after being completely ignored at another restaurant right around the corner. There was a sign on the door at Johnnys saying they were short handed and to please be patient. Their service was outstanding…even though they’re short handed!! They were very friendly and our food was brought out promptly & was very delicious! Will definitely come back if we are in the area!!

Johnny's Bar-B-Que is a popular spot serving up delicious barbecue dishes. The tender and well-seasoned brisket sandwich is a standout, paired with a side of potato salad. The catfish is a crowd-pleaser, with many customers raving about its great taste and perfect crust, fried to tasty perfection. It's a must-stop for catfish lovers. For dessert, the homemade coconut cream pie is a must-try, with some customers also enjoying the other homemade pies. The restaurant features a full menu of homestyle cooking and regular burgers that look scrumptious.
Recent reviews highlight an excellent huge chicken fried steak, considered one of the best in Seguin, prepared from scratch with everything. The Texas toast is described as "the bomb.com," though some mention that gravy served on the plate can soften the crust, suggesting ordering gravy on the side. Customers appreciate the food prepared the old-fashioned way, with fresh vegetables and good meat, and they enjoy the TexMex style enchiladas covered with cheese. While the building's exterior could use some sprucing up, the tasty food inside offers a nostalgic experience. Johnny's Bar-B-Que remains a great spot for a tasty meal with old-school charm.
