My family loves this place! Everyone is so nice especially my favorite Christa! Best chicken fried steak in town!
The baked potato was too cold to melt the butter, the chicken fried chicken was overcooked but barely warm, the lettuce in the salad was wilted (was told there was lettuce and tomatoes for the salad but it was only lettuce), the sour cream packets were expired (August of 2023) and nasty (we didn't notice the date until after we put the sour cream on the potato and noticed it was nasty), out of a lot of items (not a terrible thing...it was a busy sunday), the waitress was fairly new so we had a little trouble with the learning curve (no refilled drinks, no napkins when asked etc) she was trying. For a $47 meal it was not worth the price.

I've been coming to this place for over thirty years. Was so excited whenever they reopened after the pandemic. This place had the best chicken fried steak anywhere! I get that at every restaurant I go to and nobody has been able to beat McClain's CFS! The only reason I didn't give a 5 star review is because of my waitress caring more about the other customers than myself. When I was ready for my check and a to go box, I had to wait a while because my waitress was sitting at a table with other customers. I made eye contact a few times to try to get her attention but she kept just sitting there talking so I had to ask a different lady for a to go box and drink. She went up to my waitress for the ticket, which she handed over and then sat right back down with those customers. Ugh!
First time there since reopening. Not impressed. Went there to get a club sandwich and a blt. Now mind you, club sandwich is supposed to have turkey, ham, bacon and cheese, however on theirs you have to pay an extra $1.75 to get bacon and there’s no turkey, so I guess you could say this is just a regular ol’ ham & cheese with 3 slices of bread. Also wanted onion rings substituted for fries but once again onion rings are an appetizer here (no substitutions) and cost $8-9 separately. So, the entire meal for two sandwiches, which were fair, the onion rings, a coke and a $5 tip (which I was being generous since she didn’t come back one time after serving food except to bring the check!) came to a whopping total of $37. Won’t be back.
