The boat ramp was nice and open with several lanes. The area was clean and well kept. We have used this ramp several times and will always come back. Its very quiet and have never had any problems leaving our trucks in the free parking lot.
This time of year in December and January you can catch a lot of nice crappie along the river channel. The river runs up close to the Texas bank here and they've got two ramps that are in pretty good shape. Stay away from the south edge of the South ramp. When the water's low the concrete is broke off on that side.

Huxley Bay RV Park & Marina is a great camping spot with covered and locked boat stalls, offering a sense of safety with its regulars, mostly older folks and kids, and a host always on site. The surrounding area is perfect for fishing, nature exploration, and spotting alligators and big bass. The marina is well-protected from windy days, and the crappie bite is excellent just outside the bay. The restaurant serves good food with friendly staff, and the motel rooms, although dated, are clean. The RV Park is well-maintained, and the management is knowledgeable and helpful. Overall, it's a fantastic "fish camp" with amazing views of the lake, especially during sunrise and sunset.
