I had a brisket burrito, which was a pile of sliced brisket wrapped in a homemade tortilla! Fried cabbage, suggested by staff, which had bacon and onions! And also beans which I also recommend! It was a chilly day so we sat in the indoor seating which filled quickly! Yummy food! Adorable atmosphere and real people staff! 100% recommend!

We saw an interview on TV a couple of years ago so we planned our trip to try it. We were not disappointed! Huge portions, the meat was perfect, the sides are original and so delicious! The staff were friendly and helpful. It is a must try!

My friend who goes every weekend because she loves it so much brought me here and I was pleasantly surprised! I got the ribs and sausage with two sides, mac n chees and fried cabbage. I wasn't a huge fan of the mac n cheese being filled with brisket too but I think that's just my personal preference. The fried cabbage was yummy and crunchy without being overly slimy, it was also full of bacon and flavor. I paid $22 for my two meat two sides plate and went home with leftovers. My friend got the SMALL frito pie and look at the size of that in the picture! Definitely worth the trip. This place embodies what people mean when they talk about the amazing bbq places in Texas that are just little hole in the walls off of a highway. Also, I forgot to mention the AMAZING staff. I felt so welcome and they were very attentive and friendly. Loved it!

Stopped on the way down to San Antonio from Colorado. Phenomenal mom and pop BBQ joint. Recommend ribs, burnt ends, smoked burger with added brisket, and frito pie loaded. Gentle on the wallet with leftovers for the next meal. The staff was so kind, friendly, and attentive. A must stop when in the area. Check times for hours. A hidden local gem!!

Read reviews of this place and watched a video of the owners which made us go out of our way to try this place. Well... it was worth changing up our trip to try this place. The owners were as welcoming and genuine in person as they are in the video. The place is dog friendly and the food is excellent (had the brisket, ribs, burnt ends and added jalapeno sausage... w/ beans and potato salad). It was all incredible. Can't wait to go back!

Oh my goodness!!! Some of the best bbq I have EVER had! While everything is wonderful, the brisket burger and Mac and cheese is to die for. Service is quick, and there is a cooler of free beer to enjoy while your food is being prepared. Plenty of outdoor seating with shade, or if you prefer to sit inside, there is a new indoor seating area. They sell out quickly, so get there early.

Susan and I decided to drive to Slaton and tryout Pitfork and Smokerings BBQ. I ordered the two plate combo of brisket and sausage. Sides of beans and cream corn. I was disappointed in the brisket. I forgot to ask for the moist brisket and they gave mean the lean. It was bone dry! The sausage was excellent and the sides were awesome with the homemade tortillas. Susan had the Turkey sandwich and it also was bone dry. The staff was friendly and the ambiance is a fantastic BBQ joint vibe. I will try it again but I’m asking for the moist brisket and taking my own chile and pico for the beans and brisket. On a scale of 1 to 10 it’s a 6 for the sausage, sides and tortillas.
