Best place for the freshest , reasonable price dinner in Smittyville
First time here today and food was good and good portion size along w great service.
Rob is an amazing talented chef! Well worth it! Amazing food, small business, family owned and operated, perfect for great fancy dinner with a beautiful lady or just pizza to go!
This restaurant was a home run!!! EXCELLENT food and outstanding service. I highly recommend the Jamaican J*** Double Boned Pork Chops and Yellow Fin Tuna!!! The Jack Daniel’s Chocolate Cream Pie was sooo good!!!
After years of being trained by professionals, like from the CIA. Chef Rob, knows what he doing, he has very simple recipes. I often look to his teaching.
First & foremost!!! This place is NO longer the Back Door Cafe. Dont be fooled by signage. It has changed hands. Now it is Sudsworks. Prices are a joke. $12 for a brat hotdog that is a 6 to 1 in size. $14 for 2 6 oz pieces of battered cod.
Great food, good service and reasonable priced. Recommend you try it
We went there on May 15, 2022 and found that the Backdoor Cafe has closed down and been replaced by a nice little brewpub called Sudwerks
We popped in for a cup of coffee and ended up staying to eat as well! This is a local joint that all visit. I had a great spinach and cheese sandwich on homemade jalapeño cheese bread. Get there early not to miss special of the day. Great place
I saw the reviews of this place being the best there is. We've lived here for a few years and decided tonight to try it out and I'm disappointed. Very much so. For a place that has such great reviews I don't know where it went wrong but the chicken fried steak was mediocre at best, the color wasn't even a golden brown, the gravy was greasy and nothing tasted like it was seasoned. My steak came out cooked wrong and had an odd copper taste to it and the potatoes felt like they were instant potatoes. The menu offered maybe 5 entrée options and the prices are too high for such a limited menu with food that was far from what others have said it was.The only positive things I have to say about this visit was the green beans were on point. Those were amazing and the young woman working was polite and offered good service. Aside from the two things that were good, we won't be back. Smithville offers a plethora of other dining choices, we're just disappointed Back Door Cafe wasn't what the reviews claimed it was.
Restaurantji Recommends
Google said this restaurant was open. We tried to go in the unlocked door and was greeted by a very hateful women, who stated, "We are not open". That is fine. Put a closed sign in the window. Lock the door. Put accurate hours on Google. But, don't be RUDE to repeat customers, or any customers! We will not come back. We went down the street to Blazer's and had great meal. Smithville has enough great bars and restaurants, we don't meed to patronize this business.
Service was amazing ? you can never go wrong coming here ?. Food was delicious
Great food and drink. Friendly staff.
Loved the service and the food would highly recommend getting the country fried steak
A Smithville tradition. Rob and his crew are amazing. The food is great and the people are even better. Dinner on the weekend is the a great time.
