“My goodness what an absolute GEM! The fried chicken is out of this world (best ever!!) and the prices cannot be beat. This is a 10/10 and they could charge double and I’d still come back.”
“We love these little town dining jewels. So yummy! American breakfast was spot on. Eggs over medium, crispy bacon, jalapeño cheddar toast & potatoes! The orange juice taste fresh squeezed in the coffee was perfect.Loved the kitty. ?⬛ ?Friendly staff, I can See why the locals love it.We will back! Thanks for a Great experience.Cowboy & Sunshine”
“The beer is very good and so is the food. But the best part of all is the very big kid friendly lawn that they have. It’s so bigThat those without kids will not be disturbed”
“The food is your basic Tequeria fare. Tacos, tortas, and things like this. The aquas refresca are very good; and if you've never drank one; give it a whirl. This has become my new taco spot. Good ”
“The food is soooo good!! Love the pot stickers, the baked Borsein cheese , the edamame beans & sooo much more!! Really good drinks too!! Good service as well!”
“The food, wine, company, eclectic ambiance, service and entertainment make Fat Cat our must go when we around. This photo is a portobello pizza! Basically carb free and so much flavor!!”
“The ladies were very nice and give you time to order. We just ordered to sausage egg breakfast tacos. They were ok but very bland in taste there were not much breakfast sausage, we went early in the morning perhaps just getting things ready i hope. I heard a lot of good things about the food I was very disappointed, like I said ladies were very nice. P.S. No fountain drinks or ice...”
“Very hard to single out one meal that exceeds expectations because they all do. You have to give 'em a try. Bistro 71 is located inside Smithville Regional Hospital and has by far the best food in the area.”
“Great food, service & very nice people working there. Great staff! Ill be back to eat again. Makes me hungry just thinking abput their food!As for question below, i didnt pay. My Son brought me there. I think our ticket was about 40$ together with drinks. B4 tip.Yall be sure & tip well if you're able. Wait staff work very hard. Ive done it. And the staff here are awesome!”
“Such a cozy and inviting place to grab a coffee. I only had a cinnamon roll so I don't think it's fair to rate the food. The morning barista was friendly and efficient. It's so nice to get a real latte made with a real espresso machine! I went back in the afternoon for a cup of chai hot tea and the person working there at that time was also super friendly and welcoming. Will be back!”
“Awesome little watering hole. Patrons and bartenders very friendly. Ice cold beer, free pool, internet jukebox. A lot of history. Highly recommend an ice cold beer at Huebel's.”
“The food here is always fresh and taste great, they have a HUGE menu with plenty of choices and really decent prices and a shaded outdoor seating area to eat your food. The only con about this place is that it is Cash Only, but other than that no complaints.”
“Good Food, Great portions, clean dinning and kitchen areas condiments, in sealed units. Vegetables in cute old car trunk display. Reasonable prices. But note, They close at 3pm. They do not make any more tea from 2pm if the tea runs out! Only draw back!”
“Ate lunch there yesterday (3/6/24) with my coworker and both of us really were impressed with the tacos. I had one fajitas taco and one brisket taco and both of them were excellent. Also their chips and salsa are excellent. Nice place, great food, nice atmosphere, and great service.Parking: Front of building.”
“I love the El gringo their shrimp brochette is the best side to their fajitas. Only thing I'd like to see is peppers in their fajitas. But, I will continue to eat here.”
“Okay is it smoky in this place? Yup And for sure. Is it a fun place to meet the locals? Yes it sure is. Friendly down to earth small town folks. Good music and a dancing floor. Located in the quaint small town of smithville. I had a great time. And let me say it again, it's smoky and I don't smoke. Reminded me how all bars used to prior to the no smoking laws. It would be nice to have some ventilation of air for the non smokers, but it was still a fun time at a local hole in the wall bar. You should go and see for yourself. Parking was not a problem. Karaoke on Friday. Heard some good signers.”
“The pizza is made in a brick pizza oven soo old school. Love the pizza. The cheesecake is ok. Not much of a verity. They have a full bar. Witch every pizza place should.Parking: I've only parked in front. I'm not shore about any other parking.”
“I went in to get a sandwich and this sweet girl waited on me. Had the best patients ever, kept her cool and just smiled. She had 3 customers to take care of while one coworker just walked around and wiped the clean tables. After she finished the customer in front of me. Another coworker appeared but just walked past and went to the back. She finished with me and help the next customer. Neither of the two coworkers ever stopped and helped her. What an amazing person to keep her composure while working with such lazy coworkers. I would be embarrassed if those two boys were mine. I hope management looks at how hard some employees work and others don’t.”
“Everytime ive been to this Dairy Queen theres been excellent everything. Super great people working there. Restaurant work is hard work. I did it when i was very young. It was clean, the food was great. And like every place I've visited since moving here, to Smithville, everyone is so kind & friendly. Im so glad i moved here.I do wish more places delivered. But all in all, its a very nice place to live.”
“Had the chicken taco and barbacoa taco w/corn tortillas, and they were delicious!! Service was friendly and fast. Parking is easy in/ easy out with pull-through so easy for RVs.Parking: Pull through parking can accommodate RV with tow car”
“Just tried for the first time with my coworkers and was very impressed with how tasty everything was! The pizza wasn't greasy at all and was cut to perfection. Definitely recommend giving them a try!!”
“Excellent. Authentic. Fresh chips off the fryer. Chicken fajitas, chicken nachos, quesadillas were great. We'll be back next time Redwater comes to Dekalb !”
“Y'all need to have Ham Bonz at the top of your list. It is AMAZING! We went for an early Sunday supper and were pleasantly surprised to find that it was gospel Sunday! Great live pianist/vocalist singing so well even an atheist would tap their toes. I got the fried chicken with 3 sides - greens, yams, and mac n cheese. Honestly choosing just 3 was one of the hardest decisions of my entire life (so I'll be going back again very soon). I did steal some mashed potatoes from my husband, which are only available on Sunday and they are worth waiting all week for. But the star is THE FRIED CHICKEN I don't know what kind of magical process goes into creating a crispy thin skin with so much integrity...it is phenomenal. No skin sliding off, perfectly cooked, and no heating lamps here. Do yourself a favor and eat here ASAP. Waitstaff is attentive and super nice - we had a lovely meal!”
“Good burgers, with your choice of buns (sourdough, wheat, jalapeño cheese) and lots of topping options (various cheeses, bacon, portobello mushroom, jalapeño, etc.). Sit inside, out on the front porch (can get hot there in the summer) or on the well-shaded side porch. At least ten types of beer to choose from, though they sometimes run out of glasses, oddly enough. They have a great jalapeño popper appetizer (the last app listed on the menu). And they actually have nice salads and a nice variety of non-burger options, too. Service is not the best always. It's crowded at the front counter. It's not a very large place. And I don't think they take reservations. But I've never had to wait for a table and I've never had a bad meal here.”
“We did not realize that the Comfort Cafe is a non profit when we decided to give it a try. The food was amazing and the portions are very generous. Everything is donation based so you pay what you can. Not only did we enjoy our food but we also were happy to support a local nonprofit. We will definitely be making another trip to Smithville to eat at Comfort Cafe!”
