“Used to be so friendly and accommodating as a small town restaurant should be. Request for a pancake at 11:30 a.m. flatly denied looking us straight in the eyes. Homophobia? Dark haired female cook, Jessie, with glasses... Mother daughter owned. No apology, no effort to repair. Disappointment as we drove from Pflugerville especially for this on our anniversary.”

“I always stop here for a coffee and pastry when I come to Smithville. They have a great drink and pastry selection and friendly staff. I also always find some small knick-knacks for my house.”

“Attentive service, cute & humble patio setup, and delicious food. There is a groups of 3-5 ladies behind the windows preparing the food, making everything fresh & from scratch, making the magic happen. Food cousine is from a southern region of Mexico, so not the typical tex-mex style. Affordable prices, generous portions, especially their chilaquiles, which man, I was surprised that my little kids devoured the chilaquiles though they were a bit spicy. They were full of flavors -- best I've ever had (don't tell my mother). Drinks were a little pricey, $5 for a champurrado cup, which was so-so. Overall, great flavors and great service. Worth the trip if you're camping in the area!”

“This is one of my most favorite local places to dine at. The food is ALWAYS phenomenal, cooked with lots of fresh vegetables and savory main dishes. Chef Chabot and his team sure are amazing culinary talents. My son and I love going once a week. Miss Jennie is always so kind and attentive, we love her! Thank you Bistro 71 for all y’all do ❤️”

“Great staff, great food, decent vibe. The staff was the best part because they all took care of my needs and they also spoke Spanish, which is needed in Texas. The only thing that would be helpful for them is that if could improve the tap water taste (more filtered). Other than that, the food was great. Super clean restrooms by the way!”

“Wow! This place is my new favorite. Full menu served all day. 11-2 Huge green chicken enchiladas- I’ve never had to take home food from an enchilada plate. Super flavorful rice. I don’t always eat all my rice but I will from now on. Great beans. Great service. Food comes out fast.”

“Staff was friendly, restaurant was clean and well lit. Food came very quickly but seemed just a bit off, I had the lunch fajita burrito, and I am unsure how to describe it but it was just a bit off. I would love to try this place again but unfortunately I am only here for work today. I would solidly give a 4.7 star realistically, but as it stands I think 4 star reviews stand out well anyways.”

“Good meal I got a torta and it was good, maybe just missing couple more ingredients or vegetables, but flavor was good the the sauce the comes with it, mango water wasn't natural I guess but I never ask, expect to get some pulp and fresh mango water”

“I frequently stop here when coming through town for pleasure or business and get a banana split blizzard. 6 out of 10 times this location doesn't have bananas. So I've settled for the blizzard without bananas anyway. Have even considered carrying my own banana with me for my next trip through. Doesn't sound like much but when you are known for your ice cream dishes and dont have enough fruit. Where is the management to not be taking inventory of products for a food establishment.”

“Ordered 2 bags of Texas pecan grind 2.2lb bags of coffee. It will not disappoint y’all. The pecans can be tasted in every swig but doesn’t over power the coffee. And when I say it’s the freshest coffee possible I mean the beans in my bag were fresh roasted the day I purchased the bags. 10/10 will be buying for my work coffee from here on out.”
