“I can guarantee two things after walking into Leon’s and that’s cold beer and friendly faces — what more can you ask for!! Located in the heart of Rockne - you will never regret stopping for 5 minutes or 5 hours!! ❤️”
“We were welcomed in with smiles and sat right away. They were friendly, quick and most importantly the food was delicious! We will definitely be stopping back by after the track next time.”
“Grate place, perfect old town setting, quiet friendly staff, cold iced tea, best of red rock hands down... Would definitely go back, especially for some customer appreciation ”
“I ordered a sirloin steak med rare with some veggies. It was well cooked and super juicy?Only thing got somewhat disappointed at the drinks. No Margaritas, or Sangrias?. Staff was very courteous. Deff will ”
“Great place to stop for a bite. Also this is the location of the making of Texas Chainsaw Masacre. The van as well as the towing truck from the movie are still here as well as other things used in the movie.”
“this little food truck is an oasis! the coffee is phenomenal, and the food is outstanding! pud smokes his own brisket and it is absolutely on point! it was so delicious in my breakfast taco! they have a comfortable seating area and a drive through, so you can’t go wrong! we will be back!”
“First time customer. Tonight I tried the costilla de puerco (pork ribs). About the sauce: ribs were cooked in a rich verde sauce, mild heat, mildly sour, but pleasant, tangy, not acidic. The fat from the fall-off-the bone ribs and slight caramelization of the meat gave everything just the right consistency and taste. The rice was better than most places (soft but not mushy). The beans and tortillas rounded it all out. Normally I don't fill up on all the tortillas but I used all of it to clean the plate.”
“Found this place after seeing this recommended as the best fried chicken restaurant in the Bastrop FB group. This place is super charming and definitely has a homey southern feel to it. They only open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and they serve mainly fried chicken. They also serve fried fish on Fridays and also fried pork steak (haven't tried that yet). The sides gets switched up depending on the day you go. My favorite so far was the fried okra and cole slaw. Love that they also serve chicken hearts and gizzards for those wanting something different. The prices are beyond reasonable and the food is great! Not too salty or greasy. Peach cobbler was fire.”
“My dad and stepmom took me here for my bday dinner, currently sitting at the table in the tap room. The owner is super friendly and the food is beyond delicious. Definitely a 10/10”
“Just love Amanda and Matt! They are the best people! The food is sooooo good. And Friday night bingo with Todd is so much fun!! I had my birthday there and everyone went above and beyond to make my day a very special memory ?”
“(Translated by Google) Excellent service, very clean and without a doubt the best and authentic Mexican food, highly recommended!!???? ?(Original)Excelente servicio muy limpio y sin duda alguna la mejor y auténtica comida mexicana, muy recomendable!!???? ?”
“Solid Mexican food. Be prepared to pay with cashapp or similar! It's fine that that is what they take, they should just warn people before hand so they are prepared.”
“I have been here a handful of times in the past couple months. This is my new go to for weekend coffee runs or even before work!! No more 20+ min wait at Starbucks. I order the iced shaken espresso with brown sugar and LOVE it every time!! I will forsure be making this spot my go to coffee spot!”
“Food is quality BBQ just like I had growing up in South Texas. BBQ places like this are getting harder to find. Highly recommend the brisket and sausage platter with beans and potato salad. The inside is pretty cool, decked out with horror movie memorabilia to browse during your short wait for your food. So glad we happened across this place during our stay in Smithville. Quick stop, great grub.”
“Great atmosphere, great people, great juices and bowels highly recommend it to everyone. Glad to see this new addition to bastrop.! The muscle monkey is a must try!”
“Wow!! Since when haven’t lived here long, I never knew about this place. The wife who’s been a long time resident suggested it and man oh man!! This is the BEST pizza I’ve ever had!!! If you’re in search of a good pie, I recommend you check out this place!!!”
“The owners of this place are a sweet and serviceable couple. Coming from a very Mexican home, I can attest that their food is great! The tortillas are homemade and their food seasoning is superb! Super recommended. Definitely one of my go spots. Still cash only ?? When I place to go orders, she is always so kind to gauge my time to when I will be coming to pick up. Support this local/personal business ??”
“Better than we expected. We've been to all the local Mexican and Tex-Mex, so wanted something different. The desayuno (breakfast) platter that came out looked even better than the picture on the menu. Food was fresh, not oily, except for the fried plantains (but the plantains were really good). The refried beans were really good. The tortilla was more like a fluffy flat bread. We liked the filling in the papusas and the shredded cabbage/radish.”
“I ordered off line I'm from out of town I took one bite and fell out my chair huge flavors wssnt ready. Don't know what ingredients they used buy 5 million stars great flavor ? most definitely spending more money at this restaurant.”
“The food is yum and they have everything you could need in a convenience store. Also love the cashiers here they are very funny and nice too! This is the best place to get your payroll checks cashed.”
“(Translated by Google) The food is very tasty ... I highly recommend the pork crumble with nopales, it is delicious(Original)Muy rica la comida ...lo recomiendo mucho más la migada de carne de puerco con nopales esta deliciosa”
“Love this place. The food is AMAZING like AMAZING crazy good for bar food. Their burger is yummy and the loaded fries and nachos can feed multiple peopleKid-friendliness: Game room and dance floor. The night we went there were a good amount of children playing but not in the way at all. We will be going back again and taking the grandbabies”
“Family owned BBQ business! Been in business about 40 years, been coming to this spot since I was a juvenile. Respectful and family oriented! Brisket was soft and well seasoned! Just picked up a brisket sandwich on the go!”
“Finally, a good Tex-Mex restaurant near Bastrop, TX. This took a year to find. Home made corn tortillas, food is delicious, beans are delicious. Salsa is fantastic, all around great food service is top notch, needless to say. food prices are normal ( not Austin $6 a taco ) and it isn't a food truck, where you are eating in your car. Coffee is a 6/10, for comparison. Starbucks coffee being a 1/10 on my grading scale. Their coffee is tolerable. We will be back every weekend.”
“IN THE MIDDLE OF NO WHERE. This is not for everyone, but if you like adventures, and want a beer in a true small business setting, you have to take the drive to get here. Beer is pretty good, and the company is outstanding. They have live music on weekends, and some small RV sites are available. This is for those who want a unique country experience. If you are looking for a good experience, give these guys a shot.”
