If you're craving authentic Salvadorian food that feels like a home-cooked meal, look no further than Él Pulgarcito de América Restaurant. This hidden gem captures the heart of Salvadorian cuisine with flavors that transport you straight to El Salvador.

The pupusas are nothing short of perfection crispy on the outside, soft and cheesy on the inside, and served fresh every time. The soups, whether it's the comforting Sopa de Res or the hearty Sopa de Gallina India, are always prepared with the freshest ingredients and bursting with flavor.

As someone who's been dining here for over a year, I can confidently say this is my weekly go-to spot. The consistency, quality, and authentic flavors make it a standout among Salvadorian restaurants in Houston. Whether you’re a Salvadorian food enthusiast or trying it for the first time, Él Pulgarcito de América is guaranteed to impress.

Food is really good! The pupusas are the best I’ve ever tried in the city. Also, the breakfast plate “El Cipitillo” is what I always have for breakfast and I enjoy it a lot.

I ordered two Pupusas to take away and they didn't give me cutlery or sauce, just bad service.

I went to the restaurant and the Chelita girl, the waitress who served me, was old and very brave, serving me.

The food is delicious but the waitresses are terrible, they don't write the orders and when they bring you the food the order is not complete. The best waitress is the chelita. If she is friendly, she is the only one. The others say that one is going to order on credit.

They have more than pupusas. Love their salvi breakfast, their sopa de res (beef soup) taste like my gma was back there making it. Fried chicharon con yuca was good but had to ask for extra curtido (pickeled cabage) lil bag was def not enough for the plate but not a big deal they happily gave me more.

Amazing spot!! I got 2 chicken pupusa and one ayote! It cost $2.50 each + tax! The cashier girl was extremely friendly even though I spoke very little Spanish! I will say they don't give a crazy amount of that cabbage but the quality of their pupusas make up for it! Do not pass this spot!!

Horrible experience, first there is no air conditioning, second it looks like a clothing store, pharmacy, that's the least the place is very small and the food is very salty, the very poor service takes a lot of false advertising the food too spicy did not recommend it and they take a long time to bring the food. The most important thing is the food don’t have a flavor you taste only the salt

A constructive criticism, the tortillas are not cooked well, luckily I got a raw one and the chicken was not well roasted, the chicken had raw seasoning but the soup is excellent ?
