I don't frequently leave reviews but today's great food and service leave me no choice. Loved the thin crust pizza with just the right amount of tangy sauce And layers of Italian flavor. The stuffed mushrooms with a sauce that begged to be scooped up with the accompanying bread was as deeply flavorful as any from my mama's Italian kitchen. Finally, thanks so much to Darlene our server who is warm, welcoming, and a pro's pro. She readily guided us through the menu as we were all first time guests. After a drink was spilled, she was on the spot taking charge & saving us from attempting to clean the table. Surrounded as we are with inexperienced, novice servers, Darlene is that quiet, supremely competent pro who makes dining at your restaurant a genuine pleasure.

The food and service was great! Roy was our bartender for the evening. He made sure we knew about the brand new specials and was very kind!

Great SLK pizza stop. Good variety of modern Italian offerings. It's a favorite spot for the family

Good upscale pizza spot, even if it is a bit chaotic. Once you finally find parking in this patch of Southlake retail and walk up, the fair-sized covered patio can be pretty inviting. However, if you brave the indoor area, you'll feel like you've stumbled into a college town pizza pub for the middle-aged. The wooden interior and high ceilings combine for a noisy environment once it starts getting busy. After being seated, we watched servers and food runners scurry around from table to table, trying to keep up while simultaneously missing an opportunity to greet us and get drinks started (took a good 5 minutes to reveal who was working our table). But honestly, these are minor gripes in the big picture here. Once they arrived, our server was friendly and quick on the drinks when they weren't rushing between tables. We opted for the family dinner, which is both a good deal and a lot of leftovers if you have 4 people or less. We added a meatball appetizer, and the seasoned meat and marinara went great with the perfectly toasted bread. The pretzel that came with the dinner package was okay, but honestly felt more like a giant, twisted breadstick (the queso that we paid extra for didn't do it any favors, either). The farm style salad was actually really delicious, probably helped by coating the whole bowl with ranch. This is also the point of the dinner when we realized that we needed to hurry up and finish our first course(s), as table real estate was VERY limited for us, and a big pizza was soon to be en route. The Classic Rossa came out piping hot, but still soft enough that toppings were hanging on for dear life as I scarfed each delicious slice. If you're an older pizza fan, or just a family that's had enough CiCi's for a while, you'll like the step up in class this pizza place provides.Vegetarian options: Veggie pizza and salads

I love Taverna Ross Southlake!! My favorite server is Melanie with the pink hair. She is so bubbly and sweet and insists we have a great experience. I had the ceaser salad, pinwheels, and The Bees Knees pizza. Can't wait to come back soon and bring my employees for a happy hour after work. All love to the staff and much thanks for all you do!

I really do not like to leave negative reviews and I cannot attest for other items on the menu, however, the pizza is no better than a marginal, frozen pizza and I would highly recommend one does not order it. The crust seems to be frozen or equivalent to one that's made in advance on the open market. So sorry for the negative review but at today's prices for food when one does not receive a fair value in return, we all should share with one another. Kristen, Thank you for your thoughts and you're absolutely right people have very different taste for pizza, and everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I was not suggesting whatsoever that there weren't people who may enjoy your style of pizza, only in my opinion, it wasn't for me. Thank you for the kind and thoughtful response, and if it's working for you and your restaurant, keep doing what you're doing.
