Great food and great atmosphere. Definitely a place worth going.

I’ve been to all the nice steak houses in Austin but this one here is #1 on the list now. The people were awesome and the cost was great. This is a must visit steak houses.

J-5 offers a perfect combo of laid back Austin vibe, nice cocktails and wine selection, fresh, perfectly prepared food, and friendly, yet spot-on service.
We ate an early dinner and shared the restaurant with folks from just off work having a beer to families enjoying a Friday dinner. Our server Jackson was fun and professional, always there without being in the way. Manager was hands on, checking orders, visiting with patrons, and cleaning tables…whatever was required for smooth operation and excellent experience.
Bulleitt rye old-fashioned was a bullseye and they even had a wine for the wine ponce; Electric Jellyfish for me. Firecracker shrimp could be a meal on its own, lightly fried with a yummy slaw.
Our prime filets were moist and perfectly prepared…admit we’re generally hesitant to order steaks out, but were not disappointed, very pleased in fact.
Bustling, fun atmosphere, with plenty of room outside if preferred.
Easily the best “nice meal” option in Spicewood.

Jackson was our server and it started great from there. Drinks are always good. The firecracker shrimp is a favorite. Food was better than expected. Had not been in for a while because expectations last time were not. Has been at is current location for years.

The food was enjoyable and arrived quickly, which we appreciated. Service could have been a bit more attentive, but our server was courteous, and it didn’t take away from the overall experience. The atmosphere was cozy, though a touch dim. We recommend the Majestic Redfish and Thai Sweet Brussels - both were delicious. We were a bit disappointed to learn that the key lime pie, still listed on the menu, was no longer available. All in all, it was a pleasant visit. While on the more expensive side, we’d consider returning when we’re back in the area.

J5 has completely wowed my wife and me from start to finish. It was our first time dining here, and it absolutely will not be our last. We kicked things off with the potato soup & salad which was absolutely delicious, rich, flavorful, and the perfect start to the meal.

We both ordered the prime ribeyes, and they were cooked to absolute perfection. Juicy, tender, and full of flavor, easily some of the best steaks we’ve had in a long time.

To top it all off, we finished with the brownie sundae, which was nothing short of amazing. Every bite was indulgent and satisfying.

Our server was incredibly attentive and sweet, providing top-notch service throughout the evening. On top of that, the owner personally introduced herself while pouring one of the best drinks I’ve ever had, the Beeswax Old Fashioned. Truly outstanding.

Between the exceptional service, the warm and welcoming atmosphere, and the delicious food, J5 gets a solid 5-star rating from us. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience!

I really wanted to like this place. I liked the atmosphere and service. However if you are a steak house then you have to be rated based on your steaks. Sent our steak back twice. The first time it was not cooked correctly and the second time it tasted like a burnt piece of hamburger meat. The manager was very understanding and polite, but bottom line is I did not get to eat a steak which is why I went there in the first place.

2 of us had ribeye steak, nicely seasoned. Had to ask for bread & napkins for our drinks. Burger was delicious.

This review is for the new lunch food trailer that sells the Smash burger, French fries, smash lemonade and dessert - nice simple menu. Delightful owners, quick service and the food was fantastic! The burger is a double patty, cheese, sautéed onions, pickles and fire sauce (I ordered it on the side). You can order online, pay and pick up. Support local, this is a gem with lunch hours Tues - Sat 11 am - 2 pm.
