Clean place, great barbecue, and very reasonable prices. The food was delicious and everyone in our family enjoyed it. Seating was comfortable and the atmosphere was welcoming. The owner was incredibly kind and even gave our kids T-shirts, which made the experience extra special. We’ll definitely be back.

Omg! I smelled flavor the minute I walked through the door!! Having zero decent bbq places in Ruidoso NM, I was cravin’ some good ol! TX Bbq and I certainly found the right spot! Holy smokes. The pit master must have bbq running deep in his veins. It was moist and so tender. Barely had to chew it. The side of pintos were saucy with just the right amounts of spices. Well… This place was NOT on my radar until an Aggie recommended it to me during the recent Longhorns vs Aggies game. I’m a UT alumnus and avid Longhorns fan so perhaps the Aggie was just misleading me after the recent win at DKR Stadium on Friday.

Drove to Opie’s today from Austin and was very underwhelmed. Dry and flavorless moist brisket with no bark, no bite and overly smoky. Ribs also dry and flavorless despite being billed as sweet and spicy.
