What a TURN AROUND from a year and a half ago! New management, new cooks/servers, and the service was exceptional. Food was great also. Average of $70+ per person is a little pricey, but no complaints there because service and quality of food was great!
On a Sunday at noon, there were only 2 other people in the restaurant. The hostess did not greet us, did not make eye contact, looked unhappy, and took her > 10 minutes to seat us in an empty restaurant. Once we sat down, Julia greeted us and brought drinks. Manny, hibachi chef, was great; even had new jokes we hadn’t heard before. We debated walking right back out after our experience with the hostess, but glad we stayed and were able to enjoy our meal.
Gather was the only saving grace of this experience. They forgot about us and we sat and waited for a table for almost 2 hours. Our waitress forgot our salads and never refilled our drinks until Ganther said something when he started cooking. In fact the waitress only checked on us twice during the whole dinner. Worst service experience I’ve ever had here except for Ganther. I think we will just stick to the Westheimer location!!
