Not sure why it has taken us so long to try this place. Service was amazing with not only our server checking on us but the manager and other employees making sure we had everything we needed. We got the sampler and it was really good and the margaritas were tasty! We will definitely be coming back here often.

Third time I’ve come here to try to get into the hype of the reviews. The service is absolutely atrocious. The food specifically anything to do with cheese or enchiladas taste like beef broth from the dollar store. The first time in my life that I’ve ever tipped somebody $.50 All my server did was sit in the back with his friends and talk. We didn’t get a single refill. We didn’t have any silverware ready for us. We had to get up and wave somebody down to give us silverware. You people are paying way too much for canned food.

Worst place I’ve been to since moving here early this year. If I could give this place half a star I would. I ordered the fajita tacos and the fajitas were sour and undercooked and red in the middle. My sister ordered the 3 Taco Trio and her fajita taco was also as bad, she didn’t eat it. My wife ordered the stuffed avocado and her fajita was cooked right. Probably not coming here again.

The food is just so so here. The portion sizes are good. The taste and quality are not that great. I've been here twice now. About a year ago for the first time and just recently put the second time. I was not impressed either time. It's something to eat if you're hungry or if somebody wants you to go with them. It's not my first choice for Mexican food.
The service was also lacking. I could get my water cup refilled, but I could not get my check taken so I could pay.

This was our first time at Julio’s. Staff is super friendly and the food very good. My daughter said she found her DoorDash. Mexican food restaurant! David, our waiter, was super friendly

I like the food and my wife thinks it's okay. Music is a little loud sometimes. Last couple of times we've ordered to-go there have been issues with the order. Tonight we ate in person and had a waiter who I it would be generous to assume they were inexperienced but they barely said a word which was weird. He didn't introduce himself. My wife asked for a water and was about to order a margarita and he interrupted her. Then after I got my drink she asked for a margarita. Then when he came back later he just stood staring at my wife without ever saying anything. We assumed this was our cue to order so we did and halfway through ordering he got out his notepad. After ordering the margarita never came even though it was a slow night. We both asked for no sour cream and when the food came it had sour cream on it. At that point after all the previous failings of Julio's we took our food to go and left. I've never given a $0 tip before.
There used to be a couple good servers so I'm not sure why they've slipped so much.

Julio’s Mexican Grill - A Solid Tex-Mex Spot in the Houston Area
Overall Rating: 4.5/5
Julio’s Mexican Grill (with popular locations in Magnolia and Spring, Texas) is one of those reliable neighborhood Tex-Mex joints that hits the spot when you’re craving bold flavors, generous portions, and that classic sizzling fajita vibe. It’s not trying to reinvent the wheel—it’s straightforward, fresh, and consistently delicious, with a menu rooted in authentic touches from regions like Michoacan and Yucatan. The atmosphere is casual and family-friendly, service is usually quick and welcoming, and the margaritas (especially the swirls or specialty ones like the Voodoo) are a standout—strong, tasty, and perfect for washing down the heat.
I recently stopped in for a quick lunch and went straight for their Supreme Fajita Chicken Nachos (you can often upgrade the standard Supreme Nachos to fajita chicken for a small upcharge). If you’re a nacho lover like me, these are an absolute winner.
The base starts with thick, sturdy corn tortilla chips that hold up beautifully under the mountain of toppings—no soggy disasters here. They’re layered with creamy refried beans, a blanket of melted Monterey Jack (or cheddar blend), and tender, juicy grilled fajita chicken that’s perfectly seasoned with that smoky char from the grill. Then come the classics: fresh lettuce, diced tomatoes, sliced jalapeños for a kick, a dollop of cool sour cream, and creamy guacamole on the side. Sometimes you’ll get grilled onions and peppers mixed in if it’s a true fajita-style upgrade, adding that extra sizzle and sweetness.
What elevates these nachos to “supreme” status is the balance—everything is fresh and plentiful without feeling greasy or overwhelming. The chicken is the star: moist, flavorful, and not dried out like you get at some chains. The cheese pulls in all the right ways, and the portion is huge (easily shareable or a full meal on its own). Paired with their house salsa (mild or hot—go hot if you dare) and queso for dipping, it’s pure comfort food bliss. At around $12-15 depending on the upgrade, it’s a steal.
Minor nitpick: On busier nights, the kitchen can get slammed, so the chips might cool off a bit by the time they hit the table if you’re not diving in immediately. But that’s rare, and the flavors more than make up for it.
If you’re in the Magnolia/Spring/The Woodlands area, Julio’s is worth a visit (or delivery—they nail takeout too). The fajitas are legendary, the tortillas are homemade heaven, but those Supreme Fajita Chicken Nachos? They’re my new go-to order. Highly recommend—your taste buds will thank you! 🌶️🧀🍗

I had the best of times there on Thursday night for bingo. The food was great and they had some nice aguas frescas, remember, it's not a real Mexican restaurant if they don't serve aguas frescas!!!! The service was perfect, not too pushy but didn't neglect either.

I love this restaurant, and always have. Amazing food, and great staff. Whoever the manager was today on Tuesday the 4th, needs some retraining. Never in my career have a seen a manager have her phone on SPEAKER and yelling in the dining room, at a table. I came in for great food not to hear your conversation ACROSS the dining room. I’ve been in hospitality for years and best advice is to get off the floor, guest facing, and get yourself into the office. Amateur management today. Still 4 stars because the food is great but Julio please retrain this manager in common sense
