Mad Llama Brewing is an excellent small microbrewery with a good selection of styles, offering craft beer that is not "crap." Visitors praise the nice Blonde Ale and excellent Belgian Style Triple, with a big selection of IPAs for those who enjoy them. The brewery delivers good craft beer, with standouts like the Honey Llama Lager, described as a very good, easy-drinking, clean, and crisp beer, perfect for starting. Another favorite is Czech Yo Llama, a very tasty and delicious beer with a damn good profile, considered a very good summer beer.
The brewery itself is very nice and very clean, offering up and downstairs seating, and a little bit of outside space. It's considered a favorite new brewery and easily the best beers in the Houston Suburbs, providing a comfortable hangout area. Mad Llama Brewing is a hidden gem, becoming increasingly popular. The folks working behind the bar are knowledgeable about their beer, ensuring your beer is kept full. They are helpful in guiding customers to the perfect beer, even for specific preferences like a German style pilsner. While one reviewer wasn't a fan of an IPA's aftertaste, they plan to try the West Coast style IPA next time and suggest getting a flight if unsure.
The beers are fantastic representations of their respective styles, with specific mentions of the amber ale, a hazy IPA, and a Baltic porter. The Baltic porter, at 9.1%, is especially notable for its tremendous flavor without being too sweet. The atmosphere is awesome, with great energy and helpfulness. The Doppelbock is highly recommended, and visitors are looking forward to another visit.
