Im here now. Waiting on my food. I've been to almost every capt Benny in Houston and surrounding area. They never fail to provide excellent service and great food. The bar dude is always chill and cool. The lady's in the back can cook 🔥. I love Capt Bennies. (Tragic what happen to 290 location.)

Been going to the Stafford location for over 20 years. It always hits the spot. Portions have gotten smaller but flavor is always there. Service is great , the gentleman at the bar has been there for years , good to see a familiar face and always helpful
We had dinner here with family in the evening and were seated at an outdoor table. Unfortunately, despite the cold weather, there was no heating available, which made the experience uncomfortable. The food did not live up to the hype suggested by other reviews. Many of the fried dishes tasted very bland, and it seemed like the same batter and flavor profile were used across multiple items. Several dishes were also overly salty. Most menu items are priced at $15 or more, which felt overpriced for the overall quality. In addition, I would not recommend the fried catfish. It was mostly batter and bones, with very little actual fish. We chose this restaurant based on Google reviews and were ultimately disappointed with the experience.

We stopped here after hearing it’s a must-visit spot for seafood lovers, and I’m so glad we did. The food was absolutely delicious, and our server Jesse was incredibly attentive and even shared great local recommendations for our time in Houston. Definitely order the shrimp, you won’t regret it!

I just got thru eating at Capn Benny’s on Murphy St in Houston. Terrible. First I asked for a glass of UNSWEETENED ice tea. I got a glass of sweetened tea. I ordered a dozen oysters on the half shell. ALL TWELVE were absolutely meatless. They should have been thrown away instead of being served to me. The woman next to me got served a dozen plump oysters. I have been eating at Benny’s for years. I am not going back
