When I made our "hit list" of wineries not to be missed near Fredericksburg, Ab Astris was at the very top of my list. I can easily share that it did not disappoint!! This is a winery you simply must stop at if you're out in the hill country.

This place is special. It's got gorgeous vines everywhere with a beautiful patio and shop. We got a charcuterie board to snack on while we did our scheduled tasting appointment.

Every single wine they brought us was exceptionally tasty and beautifully bottled, but what really made me happy was the warmth and knowledge of the tasting staff. Our server knew so many stories about each bottle and really shared with us the passion the winemaker put into the work.

I absolutely loved the Cab Franc and their signature white. We loved it so much we ended up just joining their wine club so we can keep supporting this small business.

It's truly well worth your time to stop in and have a glass or a tasting if you're in the area. The wines really lived up to their award winning reputations, but the grounds are beautiful and the staff is divine.

Great wines and nice location. It's not a big operation and not pretentious, just good wine. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable.

Ab Astris is a great Family owned and operated Winery just off 290, so it’s very quiet and no road noise. The Wines are all great with something for everyone several Whites, Rose, and Reds to choose from. Great price point and great staff to guide you through your tasting. We love the pickup parties and always learn something new about foods to pair with the wines. We never miss a stop anytime we are in town.

Last minute drop in and we really enjoyed it! The wine was delicious, nice pours and really good wine explanations/education. This would be a great stop in the fall/spring when the outdoors can be enjoyed more (it felt over 100 degrees when we went).

Fantastic family owned and run winery. Lovely location with a large patio with the star of the show being the Texas grown wines. Loved learning about the story of the vineyard and tasting the different wines available. A fellow customer also recommended a podcast “This is Texas Wine” which has an episode featuring the winemaker and his wife which was awesome to listen to on our drive home from our hill country long weekend. Highly, highly recommend! We will most definitely be back.

My friends and I came to taste Texas wine, and we weren't disappointed by the offerings from Ab Astris! We had a lovely tasting on the patio and our host (she was a young woman with long dark hair - truly sorry not to remember her name, because she was great) was super knowledgeable and answered all of our questions about grape growing in Texas! We were happy to take a few bottles home, and also to have the opportunity to check out LBJ park on our way out! The property is gorgeous and I hope to get to visit again someday!

We loved this winery! The staff was so sweet and friendly. The wines were great, the cheeseboard was so good and the live music under the trees was so relaxing.

AA never disappoints. Hadn't been in a while so went for a full tasting. So glad we did. We all took home some lovely wine to enjoy again. Our host was very knowledgeable and made our experience delightful. Beautiful setting even on a dreary day. We always feel super confident dragging our new-to-Texas wine friends to this outstanding place.

We discovered Ab Astris quite by accident. We were at Becker Vineyards (aka The Mothership) and restocked some of our wine club favorites. Just before leaving, we asked our wine steward for recommendations and she said her favorite was Ab Astris. So off we went and found a winery that was somewhat unique from others. Their entire staff was away preparing for a wine tasting at the Texas Governor’s mansion, and the lady helping us was a devoted wine club member. We sampled several wines and made our selections. Nearly out the door we encountered the entire staff coming back in, owner, wine vinter and all. I instantly recognized them because they were on the cover of a wine magazine that was prominently displayed on the counter. We were introduced all around and had short but lively discussions about their wines. I was so impressed with everything. Once we got home to Houston, we later enjoyed a few bottles that we had sampled and purchased. Then my wife said, “We *need* to join their wine club!” Done! One shipment later we couldn’t be more pleased. See y’all very soon!
