Came one night with my daughter because I had raved so much about Cooking Girl, she wanted to try it. Well because we were closer to Sugar Land, we decided to check out this location, since I normally dine at the Montrose location. I will say the food and service were great, it was not quite the same at the Montrose location. The duck was still very delicious, it was just the presentation and the fact that they didn't have the duck sauce for me. I was told that this location didn't serve it with their entree of duck. I was quite disappointed because it just adds such a great flavor when eating it with the duck, but I understand that each location has their chef and each chef has their style of cooking and their choice of what they serve. The dining area is small and cozy and very well decorated. The mood lighting at night is perfect for a meal with friends or family. I will be back to visit this location again because their service was prompt and friendly.

Nothing like the one in montrose! Chicken was microwaved YES I KNOW WHEN FOOD IS MICROWAVED good amount of chicken but it was extremely dry so extremely chewy like gum and again soggy because it was microwaved. Go to the one in montrose they fry it right then and there not chewy at all and great place SUGARLAND LOCATION SUCKS.

I was passing by for lunch and he said he was a Sichuan chef and wanted to test his skills. Two people ordered a beef noodle dish and mapo tofu. Mapo tofu has no meat filling, the tofu is not tasty enough, and the cooking time is short. The beef noodles are tasty enough and the spiciness is OK. The overall level is pretty good.

We arrived at 8:32 they said they close at 9 but clearly they close at 9pm on Mondays. If you come here come before 8 because they clearly told us “just letting you know we close at 9.” They were nice about it though. Just to be clear.

Incredible. The atmosphere, flavor, portions, and options are all 100/10. It has a very cozy, quiet vibe that is hard to find in such popular restaurants. If you think the prices are a little high (they're not) just keep in mind that the portions are huge and could feed two people lol.

Ordered to go and received my order with a live bug in the dan dan noodles… the bag was closed and the boxes were properly sealed, but I opened the box of noodles to find the bug crawling around. Absolutely disgusting. I’ve been here a few years ago and remember it being pretty good. I agree with other reviews about this place going downhill.Bug in the food?? This should not happen.

Friday night I sat down, and after 20 minutes of not having a server we left (as with another family). Im sure the dishes might have been tasty but unfortunately never had a chance to try

We were able to sit anywhere freely. Workers was calm and kind. They kindly fix an incorrect order of Pepper Twins Chicken to Spicy Cube Chicken. It was my mistake. The dish image on the internet had the wrong dish name. I was very happy after eating the crispy chicken! We order 3 dishes: -Eggplant Love Green Bean smells & taste sooo good! Very saucy. The garlic enhance the dish. Big green beans & eggplant lovers would gobble this whole dish. -Fried Pineapple rice with beef. The pineapple in the fried rice with beef wasn't sweet. Just tasted like an extra ingredient. Love the simplicity of the dish because I usually don't eat rice. -Spicy chicken cubes. I love extremely spicy food but this dish is beginner friendly spice. Slight numb to the tongue and a hint of spice. Taste & Smell delicious that I forgot to take a picture with my phone lol DEF worth the try, nice crispy after rice & greens ! I put my ratings on each picture. I will return to try more homey & spicy dishes!

Food has declined . Spicy crispy chicken used to be good a few years ago.. it used to be spicy actual chicken and crispy. since then the chicken seems to be some fake bland pastey chicken nuggets meat. It used to be good like the one they have now at mala restaurant in sugar Land.I gave it another two chances and this third time was still a failure. I definitely will not be going back. It's too bad because it was very aconvenient location. I'll drive the extra 2 miles to get proper spicy crispy chicken. I wish I could give a better review..

This is the first time my family and I visited the restaurant after they moved. They didn't move far, just down the strip to a smaller space. Gone were the poetry on their wall. The owner still kept the greenery on their wall as before. Their bar caught our eyes from outside. Once in, the slow piano filled the air, a different ambience from their previous place. Their service was fast. On a cold night like last night, we appreciated their hot vegetable soup. All the dishes were piping hot. We like the new place better than their old one!

The staff is friendly and attentive. The food is VERY delicious. Be warned that spicy items are very spicy. The food is fairly priced and the portions are very big. I recommend the crab rangoons and the spicy beef soup. I would definitely visit again.

Cooking Girl is very good for a quick Chinese food dinner. We went on a Tuesday night and it was very quiet - but the atmosphere is lovely. It is decorated for Christmas now, but even without the decorations, the fixtures and plants and lighting are nice and ambient. The Dan Dan noodles, sichuan beef, and spring rolls are great. Our server even gave us a spice level option after we asked questions. It was extremely quick to come out and everyone was very nice. We also met the chef and he had us sample a new menu item - some rangoons - also very good. Would recommend to anyone in the area.
