I lived in Sugarland for a long time & this has always been my favorite restaurant. I now live in Florida but I always come in for dinner. Last night we had the fabulous, Lauren as our waitress. She went way above to accommodate my food allergy of gluten free & suggested the Monkey Roll which was extremely good.. if you love great Asian-Latin Fusion, you must stop in for lunch, happy hour or Dinner & ask for Lauren.
I had the opportunity to visit japanero's restaurant for the very first time. I visited on May 31, 2025 for my birthday weekend.
From georgia, but my wife chose this restaurant for lunch due to a recommendation from the bartender of the Marriott property. She was absolutely amazing as well .This restaurant was amazing. Being that I am a sushi lover, the sushi was fresh and my wife had the salmon tostado a dish, which was absolutely delicious.
My wife and myself had an opportunity to meet the manager whose name was Sam and our server was extremely helpful, engaging and very pleasant her name was
Giselle. Thanks for making my birthday weekend an extremely memorable one will be back in July for my wife's birthday. 😄
We stopped here today (Saturday) and they only had high tables available inside so we sat outside because my mom can’t reach the high chairs. It was hot but windy. We waited for 10 minutes & the waiter never came to even bring us water so we got out & left. The menus are old & look dirty so I was already having doubts. I used to come eat here for lunch meetings a couple of years ago but it has changed
I don’t like going to a restaurant, sitting down, and find that my table is still not clean. It’s hard to get a restaurant to clean tables real clean.. always leaving nastiness from precious diner. After an hr long wait to get our food, the food was gone in 3 minutes.. we were hungry. Serving size is smaller than other sushi places.. I usually get full with one roll…. Not at this place. I wanted more food. I guess there is not perfect restaurant…. Food was great.. but service lacked, and was still hungry at the end. Maybe add an apetizer, desert, or something to complete the meal.. yes, you should visit and eat here. Just make sure your table has been wiped clean.
Had a nice evening as a group, I enjoyed the meal, the drinks, and the Splendid Sushi Boat.
Delicious, perfectly cooked and served.
Happening place , amazing food , lots of options even for vegetarians (try the veggie shinoda for sure). If you go in the next one month , say hi to Abby …. She is so lively and wonderful personality . Amazing staff and service . Highly recommend .
Awesome menu I ordered pinchos they were banging cheers
Great variety and prices. Everything tasted fresh, yummy cocktails. Amazing service, 12 out of 10.
Will be back for more
The service and atmosphere was bad like why do I have to hear the employees or staff gossiping vulgar things laughing or mocking at someone while I was eating it's was so disrespectful. Our waiter going back and forth and the waiting for a refelling. I remember this place had a very happy environment and a good service but now it change. So Disappointed

Best guacamole I’ve ever had
Restaurant was something special—and the magic behind it all? Eli. Every detail, from the ambiance to the incredible food, had Eli’s touch of excellence written all over it.
The service was impeccable, warm, and genuinely welcoming. You could feel the pride and passion that goes into every dish. Eli clearly has a deep understanding of flavor, balance, and presentation—each plate was a work of art and tasted even better than it looked.
What stood out most was how present and engaged Eli was. Whether checking in with guests or encouraging the staff with calm leadership, their energy made the entire experience unforgettable. It’s rare to find someone so invested in both the culinary craft and the customer experience.
If you’re considering visiting, don’t hesitate. Eli has created more than a restaurant—this is a destination. One visit and you’ll see why it deserves every bit of praise.
Food is really expensive for small and bland portions. I was really disappointed
Delicious Fusion Brunch with Great Service – Just Wish for Outdoor Seating!
If you’re in the Sugar Land First Colony area and looking for an incredible brunch spot, Japanerio’s is a must-visit! This Latin-Japanese fusion restaurant offers a unique and flavorful menu that keeps you coming back for more.
From the moment we arrived, the service was top-notch—friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The food was absolutely delicious, with fresh ingredients and a creative mix of flavors that made every bite enjoyable. The atmosphere inside was lively and inviting, making it a great place to enjoy a relaxing meal. JOHN was take good care of us.
One thing that could elevate the experience? Outdoor seating! With this beautiful weather, it would be wonderful to have the option to dine outside and soak in the fresh air. Hopefully, they consider adding this in the future!
A small downside is the paid parking, which was a bit unexpected, but overall, the experience was still worth it. Japanerio’s remains a fantastic spot for brunch for us, and we will definitely be back!
I love this place! Great food, if you go try the Yucca fries or Yucca rolls, they are amazing! One of my favorite places to dine for sushi! Can’t give this place enough praise!
