I used to love it here but it has become so dirty that I’m grossed out eating here sometimes. The place needs better maintenance. It’s also too expensive for the quality of sushi you’re getting. The experience no longer seems worth it.

This one is my favorite because there is free parking and you don’t have to go near the heart of Houston!
Sushi is always good! The conveyer belt style lets you see a good amount of their menu and is a small serving so you have the opportunity to try something new without investing too much.
Staff is really chill and nice/charming!
The only negative is sometimes when I order off the screen, the kitchen sends one order when I asked for two, or they send the nigiri version when I ordered the roll but I’m not picky so I just eat! That has never happened at the Westheimer or downtown location for me.
Vegetarian options: There’s tamago (egg) nigiri, miso soup, desserts, French fries, edamame, watermelon, salad. Those are the ones off the top of my head that I remember!

What you see is what you get, off a moving belt.
The catch for kids and parents? Every time one slides an empty tray into the deposit collector at the table, it dings and accumulates points for a game. Kids are busy picking trays from the belt for their turn to “deposit “ empty trays. Before I know, the bill is “dinging “ up ?!

The cleanliness of this place has decreased significantly. Today, when I picked up the water cup, I noticed some marks that I initially thought were just discoloration from frequent use. However, upon touching it, I found it sticky and textured—it's disgusting. When I asked the waitress about it, she mentioned it happens often with their dishes, and unfortunately, she's right. Most of the small soy sauce plates on the table also have sticky residue on them.

Fun place...know your way around sushi cuz they move pretty quickly down the line. Would love to see some roasted garlic on the edamame. Fun drink robot. Just know people near belt will spend lots of time passing plates down the table. Lots of varieties...loved the spider crab rolls.

Quality has gone downhill while prices have gone up. You mean to tell me these are the pieces of sushi coming out of Kura. ? Just look at the pics attached!! It’s like they don’t even care about the food.
All the rice was just hand globbed on the plate with fish in the wrong direction or rice all stuck together. I had to separate the rice from two sushi pieces. I have never been served sushi like this ?
I used to be able to get 5 plates of sushi and beef udon soup for $15 and now that is $25 but the sushi look less like sushi.
Please get quality control up in here. Lol

Kura is a really cool experience that everyone should try at least once. The food is always fresh and delicious. the only thing is be cautious of getting than you can eat lol
