Pho Ben Sugar Land - Telfair

They didn’t greet me when I walked in. Mind you it was only one table eating in there so there was no reason to not be greeted. I had to sit myself as well. One lady came and just put the menu on my table. Didn’t say anything to me, didn’t even look at me. I ended up ordering number 26 which is Pho with Lean Brisket. I also ordered extra brisket on the side and extra shrimp on the side. The lady taking my order had a horrible attitude but I still continued. When my food came something didn’t look right. I ended up asking for an extra bowl to see if the meat inside was the regular amount. When I pulled it out it was literally about 6 pieces of lean brisket. That is not the normal amount. Even the meat I ordered on the side was more than that. Double the amount. They went to the back to bring a man to speak to me. I told the him about it and he told me that’s the regular amount. I’ve been here multiple times and have NEVER received 6 pieces of lean brisket! He goes and says oh you been here before well I never seen you. Just because you never saw me does not mean I never been here. I began showing him photos of my pho from my last visit at this exact location. Then he said well there’s nothing we can do. His coworker even admitted that’s not the amount of brisket and said he would add more but the waiter was so rude I told him I’m done and I will not be eating this and left the establishment.

Please be mindful when coming here. The encounter felt very racist as I, a black woman, was the only one not greeted and spoken to when ordering my food but when a Indian man came in he was greeted with the quickness and treated with respect when handed the menu.

They were very quick with the service but once you got your food and drink we never saw them again. The entire meal. Ran out of water and didn't get any of the things we needed.

Disappointed. Had takeout today from this place. Unfortunately, the vermicelli bowl had pubic hair on it. This place is about 20-25 mins from away from me so no way I would go back and show them that. Ugh. The only reason this is not 1 star is coz the banh mis were delicious.

Beef Stew Pho was outstanding. The Spicey beef noodle soup was kind of blend to me. Overall, good place.

The food is good and always arrived on time. I have eaten here many times and I can certainly that their bun thit nuong and com ga are great!

That was a mix-up with the order receipt and I hastily left a negative review earlier but the misunderstanding has been resolved quickly. I do apologize for that!

The pho here is honestly always delicious, my go to #34 the white meat chicken pho has always been my favorite. Unfortunately today I had a very disappointing experience and felt almost taken advantage of by the staff. In my special instructions I put to please add an extra cup of broth as I am sick and the broth is very beneficial to my stomach. When I dine in the cup costs $1-$1.50, for 2 cups of broth the restaurant had the audacity to charge me NINE extra dollars and when I called to ask why they tried to say that the extra $7-6 were due to taxes??? Very disappointing to see a favorite restaurant outrageously over charge for something as simple as 8oz of broth.

My family visited this restaurant again, hoping things had improved, but we were disappointed once more. We’ve been coming here since they first opened, and our last two visits were already bad experiences. We decided to give them one final chance, but unfortunately, nothing has changed.

Food: I ordered the small Bun Bo Hue ($12) w/o pork ham, only four very thin slices of beef, and a small amount of vermicelli. I was honestly shocked by how little food was in the bowl for the price. We also ordered the grilled beef spring rolls, and they were only about the size of two fingers. The beef was so chewy that I couldn’t even swallow it.

Service: The service was just as disappointing as the food. When we were ready to order, we looked around for a server, but no one came to our table. Two servers were cleaning a table nearby, but they ignored us even after we said, “Excuse me.” Meanwhile, the other servers were standing behind the bar chatting and looking at their phones while customers were trying to get their attention.

After giving this restaurant multiple chances over the years, it’s disappointing to see that neither the food nor the service has improved. Sadly, we won’t be returning.

I had Ordered beef sandwiches and the beef was so dry, also the bread taste not good too, could not even finish the sandwich (the other location is way better), also the default tip option from check out device is changed from 15% 18% 20% to 18% 25% and 30%.

This location used to be so great! We would go there all the time. We started coming less and less because the service and the quality of the food seemed to keep declining. It got to the point where we had to find a new location. We have to flag the employees over for water refills. They have to be called when you are ready to place your order most times, then they give you your food and never come back to check on you (unless you call them over). They don't carry water pitchers anymore, they just bring you new cups . Everything tastes off , like not how it used to taste. Whether or not if its busy , its like this with service. I have placed orders over the phone only to show up and they claim they never got it and I must have called the wrong location (i didn't. I made sure of it) . I have called the same number and placed orders just fine before . I have called and placed an order for 2 beef bahn mi and I arrive 15 ish minutes later to pick up only to be told they weren't ready and then still have to wait another 20 minutes for 2 sandwiches that take max 5 minutes to make. I genuinely don't understand how the quality of the food and the service has changed so drastically, but I won't come back to this .

I regularly order lunch from this location for my staff, but today was my first time personally picking up the order—and unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing.

The cashier did not greet or acknowledge me, spoke in a curt tone, rolled her eyes when I answered her question, and threw my food onto the counter without any basic courtesy such as “hello” or “thank you.”

As a frequent customer placing ongoing orders for my team, I value professionalism and respect. This interaction felt unwelcoming and inappropriate. Based on this experience, I will likely have my staff choose a different location moving forward. I hope management addresses this seriously.
