We stopped in for lunch on our way to Waco and the food was excellent. We had a BLT with a side salad, a steak Sando and chicken fried steak and it was so great! The salad was so fresh and sandwiches were super flavorful. The CFS was huge!

I was visiting Sulphur Springs for work and had a great time here for both days I was in the city. Proud to support a member of the a Texas Craft Brewers Guild. I will be back to restamp our passports cause it resets every 3 years.

My first day, a bar tender was very friendly and recommend brews to try for a flight which were all great. Answered my questions and a great representation of this place that this was the first place I wanted to come back the next day. I am terrible at remembering names, and I apologize to him if he is reading this. Ended up buying a 6 pack cause of his recommendation. You know who you are!!

Second day, I met John and Alex, which were both just as awesome, and asked there names which I the wrote down before leaving cause I realized I suck. I enjoyed some pannecota which was amazing. As a visitor from the DFW area, I HIGHLY recommend this place! If you like craft brew and support drinking local, visit here!! 5 stars!!

Harvest Host stay for the 1st visit. Alex met me at the door and made an instant impression…..she’s the best hostess/waitress in Texas! Brews are great, and the food is out of this world! Only had to roll out to the camper after a great time at Hops & Chops!

Nice brewery and restaurant. The Paper Chase IPA and For The Whom The Bell Tolls stout were excellent.

Friendly bartender. Great food especially the salmon bowl. The tacos are also amazing. Paper chase is my fave. Highly recommended.

My wife and I went there for supper on July 13 ,2024. Off the start, the waitress was good throughout the entire visit. I can only judge the food I ordered. I ordered the lemon pepper pork chop, and my wife ordered the Bavetta and shared the mac and beer cheese and seasoned vegetable with a flight of sauces, roasted garlic, whiskey something, and hot honey. The side portions are a seperate charge and are ment to be shared. No entre includes a side. We both agree that 90 percent of the food was bland! You only get one free slice of bread, after that you have to pay. It comes with this oil and I believe balsamic vinegarette mixture, which doesn't mix so when you dip your bread, you get the horrible taste of oil. When our order came, it looked good, but this place doesn't believe in seasoning what so ever. The best tasting thing was the hot honey dip. The bavetta was bland. My pork chop was ok. The seasoned green beans was actually good. Mac n cheese was epically bland, looked so delicious, but could've gotten more flavor out of cardboard. That was the biggest disappointment that it made my childhood cry! The portions were very well sized I will say. Even the sauces were bland! The roasted garlic butter had no flavor, the whisky sauce had to be tomatoe paste and taco seasoning, but the hot honey was actually good. I highly suggest that one. I gave only 2 stars due to the only good things was waitress service and a nice place. This place is very pricey and not worth it. 100 dollars for just my wife and I, and that's without any fancy drinks or anything, just 2 sweet teas and food. Paid a lot of money for bland food. With some seasoning/ better tasting food and price adjustment, this would be a very nice place.
Also!! The chairs! They're all the same, and they're those metal chairs where the bar that connects to the seat and over the back plate. They're the most uncomfortable chairs. The bar mentioned digs into your hip bones unless you're small and petite or you sit your bottom forward and slouch. It's a horrible designed chair and no bench seat/ booth tables. This place has high potential, just needs a few changes. I hope this helps others.

We were visiting Sulphur Springs from Montreal Canada and had to stop in. This place is amazing! We sampled 8 different beers and loved every one! The young man (Austin) who gave us a tour was very knowledgeable and clearly loves his job. We ordered the southern poutine from Hops and Chops and it was excellent!! I will definitely come back.

I have visited Sulphur Springs a few times this year…And every time I make it a point to have dinner at Hops and Chops. The food is delicious (I have had their steak….salad…and a potato), the service is simply awesome, and don’t get me started on their brews. My favorite is Barrel Aged Black Buzzard. Y’all, this is supreme top notch, world class DARK beer. Trust me: if you like dark beer, do NOT short yourself. Swing by for a glass. You will not regret it!

This place was amazing! My steak was cooked perfectly with a warm red center. All sides were amazing especially the Mac and cheese with fried scallions. I also extremely enjoyed the s’mores tart.

Beer has been great for many years. This was our first time trying the new restaurant menu. The food is a farm to table style with a few very surprising dishes. Poutine was unique and the star of our meal. Chicken fried steak was hand battered and tender. Asiago mashed potatoes are some of the best mashed potatoes, anywhere. The seasonal vegetable was blistered shishito peppers. Very uncommon to find in a non-japanese restaurant and I love that they highlighted them. We prefer a different (more traditional?) preparation with soy sauce and mirin, but the ones we ordered were fine and probably a good introduction to a new food for a lot of people.

The prices do reflect the farm to market environment, so be prepared to pay a little extra for the quality.

Undergoing some recent changes. Morphing into a steakhouse with a craft tap bar. Some very excellent brews. Had a nice late lunch and craft brew sampler. A lot of potential here. Indoor and outdoor seating, space for live entertainment. I hope to come back for a steak dinner.
