Never got waited on . Was ignored till I made a complaint. Manager refused to give me the Corp number says they can’t give it out . They waited on hospital employees but not regular people . Waiting so far 20 minutes for a complaint line number .

We will NEVER be back to this hospital! We have been patients of BSW for years now but this was our first experience with McLane’s Children’s Hospital. Our first visit was 12/28, our son had a 102 fever. We took him in to be seen and they performed no testing but just said it was probably an upper respiratory infection and sent us home to only take Tylenol. We understood that it just needs to run its course and didn’t need antibiotics. 3 days later on 12/24 our son was still sick and then he could barely walk. We decided to take him back in that evening. As a parent to see that your son can barely walk or even stand is extremely concerning and scary. Our son has autism and cannot express what’s wrong or if something hurts. We overly expressed that to everyone we saw. The ONLY thing the ER DR did was feel his legs and watched with her own eyes that he could hardly walk. She DID NOTHING else. No tests, nothing! Sending us out after midnight, she claimed “it’s just muscle pain related to whatever virus he has”. We were instructed to just continue to give Tylenol….you would think that if someone can barely walk it would warrant some testing. The next day we decided that he is absolutely not ok and needs to go back in because their diagnosis just didn’t sit right with us. We decided to take him to Dell Children’s Hospital in Austin. Almost immediately they started to run testing. They ran bloodwork and started IV fluids within 30 minutes of checking in. He was severely dehydrated, had elevated liver enzymes and a condition called Rhabdomyolysis which is when your muscles start to breakdown. That explains why he couldn’t stand or walk. One of the key indicators in your bloodwork for this is Creatine, the high rage for this is 250, his was almost 3000!!! This is released from muscle breakdown in the body and causes damage to the kidneys. He ended up being admitted for 3 days before getting well enough to go home. If ONLY the DR’s at McLane’s Children’s Hospital would have done their job things wouldn’t have gotten as bad as they did. We are extremely disappointed and shocked that they were ok just sending him home that night. He should have been admitted and proper testing should have been done. Imagine if we would have just accepted their diagnosis and not gone back for a 3rd ER visit……I will forever drive over an hour to Dell Children’s Hospital from now on.
Poor quality food, less variety

Highly recommend BSWH-Temple. Our son was in a motorcycle accident Saturday night and was in ICU for 2 days before being moved to a regular room. The registration clerks were always friendly and smiling when we got our daily visitor pass. He had the absolute best nurses throughout his stay: Kelli in ICU; Bryanna, Jazmin, Angelica & Jenna from the 5th floor. Dr. Ng and the ICU trauma team were fantastic as well. I cannot say enough about the hospital & all the people we encountered. Thank you!!
My 82 year old mother was there for a broken hip. She was scheduled for 7pm that night, then it was changed to 9-10am the next morning, then it was changed to 5pm that evening. She layed there for 2 days, no food and very little water, "because she is having surgery". They finally took her into surgery @ 9:30 pm that night. No communication, everything that we found out, was because I started asking the questions. We finally saw her @ 11:30pm. Sunday things went pretty well. Monday, some hospital medicine doctor (Cesani) discharged her to rehab without even knowing anything about her or talking to the family. He went to her room, spoke to her for about 2 minutes and walked out. My brother got a phone call from the rehab facility, that they were going to transport her to the rehab facility. My mother is 82, has parkinson's, has memory issues, takes meds that have to be taken in a certain way or it will mess her up big time! She has a hard time understanding things and making decisions..... And now she can't even get out of the bed without assistance. When I called to discuss the matter with case management and the doctor, they had an attitude of indifference. They couldn't care less about the patient.....it's all about the money. I can promise you, this "doctor" spent 2 minutes in her room and will charge the insurance way more than his time was worth. He made a decision without knowing anything about her, all he did was read a little bit and was ready to send her out the door. I am not happy about this and I am researching every avenue that I have ...... I am quite sure that nothing can or will be done, but I promise, it will not go without address or voice!!! I will say that the nurses that my mom had were wonderful, the doctors in the ER, the surgeon and the anesthesiologist were wonderful.....but this lack of communication and decision making without family involvement is unacceptable.
It wasn't crowded. The burned bacon deserves a free cup of coffee with it. Biscuit was good, though.

Yes this is a hospital cafeteria but my goodness what a welcoming sight when you are camped out for hours-days with a sick loved one. Amazing selection of food for all three meals. And healthy selections as well like a salad bar and soup selection! The cheeseburgers premade and available even after the grill has shut down may be some of the best concession stand style cheeseburgers I’ve had! Lots of selections available for the grab-n-go for after hours so that you’re not totally SOL after it has closed. The worker behind the grill always friendly and helpful. Seriously this was a bright light in a rather dismal time for my family while camped out at ICU for 3 weeks.

Not open nights or weekends when parents and hospital staff need it most. Food is fine - not great but not bad. Service is fine during the little time the cafeteria is open and serving food.

Rude as hell when answering the phone if and when they answer. (With the exception of Michael) Megan is snippy and smart mouthed. Very inconsiderate.
