We had a birthday dinner with a party of 6 at the hibachi grill. The chef was engaging and entertaining. The food is always flavorful and delicious. There was a "service charge" for having a party over 5.

Food was trash meat was disgusting! Was told it was fresh then come to find out it was cut @5pm and left out since a different shift start. Went to eat@8:30pm so imagine what foul taste the meat was giving. Over priced they charged for 3x the amount of rice and I did not order extra rice at all. Cali rolls. OLD no flavor. Drinks have 0 carbonation straight syrup. If you wanna waste $$$ then Nami is the place for you. Wouldn’t recommend

It’s usually hit or miss here to be honest but I keep going back ??‍♀️ but after last nights (3/29/24) experience I probably won’t be back. My husband called in and made reservations for 8:30 PM for a hibachi table. We get there at 8:30 and when I walk in, it just smells really weird it smells like sewer water, being masked by room spray. The smell to the hostess and she says that it may be coming from the construction that that’s going on downtown outside. We’re then seated, then our waiter comes and takes our drink orders. She comes back with our waters and ask if we’re ready to order, at that point we hadn’t even looked at the menu yet. We had only been there like 5/10 minutes and he and I were talking and she said with like an annoyed tone. oh, we’re closing at 10:30. Mind you at this time is about 845-ish so we quickly look over the menu and place an order. The food some of it was undercooked. Most of it was overcooked, and it was not good at all. I feel like we were rushed. The food was rushed. The service was rushed, and we did not get quality food or service last night. I asked the family seating at the table with us how was the rice, and they said crunchy the rice was undercooked, crunchy and raw tasting. One guy didn’t even eat his meal because it was so overcooked. My shrimp was overcooked and my veggies were burnt. I didn’t realize how much cross contamination takes place at the hibachi table, the same knife that cuts the raw seafood, cuts into raw steak

Out or a party of 5, three of us were vomiting and had diarrhea. Other than that the service was ok, the cook was obviously just getting through his shift. Was disappointed with this experience, unfortunately this was my first time at a place like this.

NAMI has a great environment!! Love eating there and being there with friends. You NEED to be UNDERSTANDING and PATIENT if it's the FIRST Friday of the month. They are HELLA BUSY!! Angel is the BOMB . COM!! Great manager. The staff works hard and great. If there's an issue with the food the staff fixes it immediately. No need to leave a nasty review, they fix it and move on. I am always satisfied with the food. Been eating here for 10 years. Great staff and food.

Cook misunderstood order, never asked. Assumed a meal was being split but again never asked and I never got what I ordered. When I told waitress who had not been back for a while. She said let me talk to manager. When she finally came back she said he thought meal was being split. So I didn't get the chicken at all but he split it up between the others in my party. Apparently we were supposed to know he did that and they did not take care of the customer at all. Didn't even take a tea off the bill for there mistake. Expensive place for bad service and low quality food. I won't be back. Simple sorry let me give you a discount or take a drink off for our mistake. Never even admitted they messed up.

This might be the absolute worst hibachi/sushi restaurant I’ve been to in the last 25 years. We made reservations for 5:30 pm on Valentine’s Day (did not have a chef come to the table until 6:45 pm). As soon as we walked in, the entire place smelled like dead fish/sewer ? I almost slipped on the floor because it was covered in oil residue. When the “chef” finally arrived, he made zero small talk and showed zero hibachi skill. He was sweating profusely into the food, from his forehead to his forearms ? in every other hibachi experience I’ve had, the reason for the 20% gratuity is because you get dinner and a show.. there was no show. In fact, the “chef” looked like his dog died this morning and hated the fact he even had to be there. Not to mention? The waitress acted like she didn’t want to serve anyone the soup and salad (we overpaid for) and was annoyed that she brought out more than was consumed. I ordered a glass of wine and had to wave over a complete different waitress just to get a refill. Then our chef began to cook ?He spilled half of my food on the counter (it never made it to my plate) and he gave zero remorse for that. He then served fried rice to people who ordered steamed rice.. leaving the ones who paid EXTRA for fried rice with half a scoop. TO TOP IT OFF - NO SAUCE. And if you’re a sauce girly like me, you came SPECIFICALLY for the yum yum sauce. It wasn’t until the very end he asked if anyone needed sauce .. we all then replied “yes, I can’t eat any of this without sauce”. He then gave me half a bowl of sauce to eat my cold meat… Now the best part is yet to come.My husband served 6 years in the military and when I say he has an iron gut .. he can eat ANYTHING. 5 minutes in the car and he is trying to pull over to throw up. He BARELY made it home before he had explosive diarrhea and puked up his entire meal. $140 literally wasted .. I could have gotten a better valentines meal at McDonald’s.

I'm from the NW Suburbs of Chicago and we love this Japanese Steak House by us. But when we go, it normally costs us over $200.00. When we left Nami, our bill before tip was $88.00. I told my wife that this might be the best $100.00 meal we've ever had. Best item of the night was the sashimi appetizer. Nine pieces, fresh, cut thick. Definitely will be dining there again.

I was excited to enjoy Nami for my Birthday. Unfortunately the restaurant was dirty and smelled funny. We decided to push through and ordered sushi as an appetizer. My husband and I both tasted one piece each. The sushi tasted old, like it had been in the refrigerator for a long time. So we did not eat any more. When I asked the waiter what his dinner recommendations were. He said "I don't eat here" and made a grossed out face. I wish I was lying but that was enough for us to get the heck out of there.

The smell upon entering the restaurant is disturbing

Food was terrible. The steak in the Ramen was not edible. The other filet minion was burnt on the outside and mooing on the inside. The appetizers were good but it's so little for what u pay. Sushi rolls were good. The drinks were weak for the cost.

Food was great but if youre looking for atmosphere this isnt the place. The hibachi room was just that. No decorations, nothing on the walls. It really took away from the dining experience.
