Good dancing floor. Good party place!

Friday nights after the football games or Saturday after your activities. Sunday night dances. Wear your boots and jeans, be dressed up, whatever…. There’s pool, affordable drinks and the best atmosphere you’ll find. This is what Texas is about.

Tips:
-Bring cash. They do not have an atm or take credit cards. It’s costs them extra.
-Smile as you walk up and say hello to people. They’re just staring cause they are trying to figure out if they know you or your cousin or if you know their momma.
-Prepare for clusters of people. Everywhere. Yep, we are guilty of crowding the dance floor and doorways because we’re just having the best conversation of our life over here. And we haven’t seen so and so in years! However a quick, excuse me would you mind moving here or there? It works!
-Lean upwards on the stairs. Take ‘em slow on the way down. Buy a shirt to say you survived them.
-Garner your thoughts on what you think this place should be like….sing a little the stars are bright (in your head would be best….they’ll stare a little harder) and enjoy the fact that this place has been around for 100 years and you can experience it the way people have for decades. It’s not new and shiny, it’s iconic Texas and you’ll never find another place like it.
-Rating it less than a 5 after reading my tips means you didn’t listen and that’s on you. You’re probably about to have your Texan card revoked: I’d expect you’d be wearing a cowboy hat and not know how to drive a stick.

Went here for the first time to dance to a band I like, that I have only heard once before. A local dance partner went with me, and we met up with other friends. Friendly staff, and patrons as well. It was a great night of dancing to a good band, and at a place with over 100 years history. Ahh, if only the walls could talk! And yes, I survived the staircase!

Historical dance hall. Been around for 100 years as a family business. Crowd is an older bunch so understand that’s what your coming to see. Lots of history though. Pretty beat up but what isn’t after 100 years. Usually have live music and some pool tables as well. Be careful with opening doors. Had a metal piece of the bottom floor bar door go under my fingernail into my skin.

Great dance hall with the best dance floor. Cheaper beer than in most places

Always a good group of people when Jerry Haisler and the Melody Five play for the dance. Old dance floor is perfect for dancing. Not too slick, but you can glide easily. It is an older dusty venue, but it makes up for it with its 100 year history.

Open since 1923, it's a historical place to visit.A Great place to visit!
