We visited the Thirsty Goat for one cocktail and enjoyed the atmosphere and service. We decided to grab an appetizer - three amigos -which had Chile, three sauces, and chips. Upon entering, we inquired with the hostess about bar seating, which we prefer as we enjoy sittting side by side and chatting with patrons and the bartender to get a feel of the local vibe, happenings and attractions.
However, the hostess, seemed fixated on if we wanted drinks. She seemed very disappointed when we mentioned that we only wanted a quick appetizer and would be sitting outside. We placed our order with her and she stated that she would find us and bring us the food. That didn't happen. After 15-20 minutes, we were not served water, nor food, and thats when I went inside and realized that the order was never placed!
This felt like the hostess was influenced by something outside our control. Maybe it was how we looked, Hispanic male and woman not wearing club attire, but overall it felt like we were not welcome. I went inside to check on our order. My girlfriend followed and asked the manager about the issue. He stated that they had a party of 200 earlier in the day and perhaps the stuff was busy. There were literally no other patrons in the restaurant. They gave us our order minus the chili, did not charge us and we left. I do not recommend this place. Stay with the Thirsty Goat and you will not be disappointed. The manager seemed like he was just making excuses. There was a weird vibe about this place. There was a party next to us on the patio and literally three servers came and attended to them and we only got water at the very end when they realized there was an issue. They are either racist or profiling but either way did not exhibit Stellar customer service.

A great end to our days of long hiking the Big Bend area. Both nights we dined we were personally seated by the head Chef. We felt welcome from our first steps in to the very end of service. The patio offers great shade and beautiful views. The food was excellent and consistently good both nights. I highly recommend to any future visitors of Lajitas!

Gorgeous setting, super courteous and welcoming staff, seated by the chef 2 nights in a row who also brought out a special ice cream (not on the menu) to our kids, relaxed pace, plenty of time to enjoy the beautiful sunset outdoors, perfect to bring kids as they can run around in the grass and explore

From start to finish, our experiences exceeded expectations. We were served by different staff members nearly every visit, and I want to give special recognition to Aaron, Marli, and Renee, who were true professionals. Their service went above and beyond what you’d typically expect at a resort, not only delivering attentive and friendly hospitality but also offering great recommendations for hikes and activities in the area.
A standout highlight was Chef Smajo, whose warm personality and passion for food were evident in every dish. The menu he curated was both fun and delicious, offering a variety of flavors to satisfy all palates. He made a point to personally visit tables, engaging with guests and making us feel truly valued during our stay.
If you’re visiting Lajitas Golf Resort, dining here is an absolute must—fantastic food, impeccable service, and a welcoming atmosphere that enhances the entire resort experience!

I normally do not like to post negative restaurant reviews, but I felt this was deserves managements attention. The service was slow, and the waiter forgot our appetizer, he forgot my tea that I ordered, he never came back and checked if we needed a water refill. The food came out room temperature. And it felt we were not treated like guest. Normally, I am tip very well for basic service, but this time the waiter only got 10%. He could have gotten more if he earned it. Other than that it is attractive place, but I expected more from a high end establishment. I will most likely not come back, and at this time, I don’t recommend this place.

Well everyone knows how prestine this place is already. I woukd just love to brag a little on the food. PERFECT. Chef is an amazing individual who treats you like your his only client there as well as the wait staff, the chefs there cook to perfection . We have been saving for a while to splurge and was well worth it. Thank you for the experience and amazing food. You have a customer every year for life. Ps it was for valentines day and it was special we are still wanting of our amazing experience.

Had breakfast and dinner here during our stay at the resort and both meals were great! Drinks were well made (the pineapple margarita was delicious) and the staff were lovely. We had Britani for breakfast and Tark for dinner and they were both super kind and helpful.

Absolutely incredible top-notch service, the food was DELICIOUS. I could’ve eaten an entire plate of just the asparagus. The steak was cooked perfectly and was seasoned to perfection as well. Everything was so good. The ambiance is beautiful. We absolutely loved our experience!
