First time in terlingua, decided to try this place. Should've taken the hint we were the only ones there at 8pm on a Friday night. Food was ridiculously overpriced. 2 entrees 2 drinks and appetizer was 80 bucks. Unreal. I also have food poisoning and this was the last place We ate. Margaritas were not good. I will not be back

We sat outside on the patio and had great service from Amy. We enjoyed the chips and queso a lot! My husband got the burger and I the fajitas. Both were good. We’ll definitely be coming back. It started to get a little busier as we were heading out but we had no issues with slow service. Food came out quickly!

Grill closes at 9:30 sharp. So if you get there after that, it’s chips and queso for you. The bar might stay open till 2, but I wouldn’t count on it. On the bright side, the queso was good. Probably has good food you get there earlier.

I just want to thank the staff who was working tonight, April 6, 2024 - as even though their kitchen was closed they didn’t let us starve. We are staying at the El Dorado next door and driving all the way from Dallas for a surprise proposal - I was up since 4:30 am and worked until 9:00 pm… We had just gotten back to the hotel and walked in to High Sierra when they had already closed their kitchen. We decided to try our luck with another place that showed they were open until 1 am - just to be told their kitchen was also closed. I almost begged “for whatever they have left, we’d be ok with that” yet again all the hostes repeated was “nope sorry we are not serving food to anyone anymore. We’re already a full house and got enough people to feed”. They very well know there’s nothing around - and it was just too much for them to be human and work something out.We returned back to the High Sierra and I had to tell them “I’ve been driving and working all day, I’m ok with whatever yall have left.”They only had one last bowl of chili left along with chips and salsa/guacamole/queso… but it was the best. Our server was amazing - she was “on it” and we didn’t have to ask for anything. The chips just kept coming and finally when we were no longer starving a gentleman from the bar brought us shots of tequila “to end the long and exhausting day on the best note.”From now on I’m definitely coming here anytime I’m visiting Big Bend - to stay at El Dorado and feast at High Sierra. I’m hoping to grab lunch there tomorrow before I leave so I’ll definitely update my review with the actual food but the people are the sweetest and honestly that’s all you need.Thank you so much again for your kindness, hospitality and for not turning us away like the other place. Y’all took great care of me and my friend. I’m definitely a life long loyal customer as long as these two establishments are open and I hope I can come back to Big Bend soon ?

I arrived in town late and took the precaution of calling ahead to ensure the restaurant was still serving food, as I was in need of a meal after a lengthy drive. I was assured over the phone that the kitchen would remain open until 10 PM. However, upon my arrival at 9:15 PM, I was informed that the kitchen had already closed. Despite this setback, I kindly requested if they could accommodate me given the misinformation provided by their staff regarding the closing time. To my relief, the waitress went above and beyond to fulfill my request. Kudos to the attentive staff and managers for their understanding and flexibility! I decided to try their Philly steak, and I was delighted by its abundance of cheese and delicious flavors. The establishment itself has a unique and tidy ambiance, which added to my overall enjoyment. I definitely plan on returning to this place in the future. Thank you for the excellent service and scrumptious meal!

Food was outstanding. Tostadas and street tacos are awesome. Cool vibe. Service is okay. Prices are average for the area.

Stopped in for cocktails and snacks. We ordered chips, salsa, queso and guacamole. Queso was delicious ! Ordered spicy mango margaritas and they were amazing! We would definitely come back for more of them. They do have live music at times and they have an outdoor balcony that looks inviting! The server, Amy was very knowledgeable about local events, weather, chili cook off and everything in between! We will definitely be back!

Came on a not so busy Saturday early in the day. They were basically out of everything. Only had one party left to make one burger. Food was cold, bun was not heated at all and hard to eat. Nice waiters

Service was goodHouse marg with golden tequila was great! The street tacos were good and flavorful. They were very thin, def could’ve used more filling. Beans were tasty. Rice wasn’t very good. Bowl of chili (meat based) was good (no beans). Chips and queso was good.Overall good. A little overpriced but good.
