Everything was online so never spoke with anyone there. We were give a combination for our cabin. Cabin was well stocked with towels and bottled water. Very remote location for star gazing so bring what you need. Small kitchenette for meals. The rustic theme was authentic. We had a great time.
The motel was conveniently located very close to the Terlingua Ghost Town and Big Bend National Park. The room was remarkably clean, especially considering its location in the desert. We could walk on the tile floor with bare feet without it feeling gross. The area was very quiet, beautiful, and perfect for star gazing. Would definitely stay here again.
Clean room though sparse which is expected. My problem is the reastaurant. My son & I went in & they had 1 customer eating breakfast & we walked by the 2 employees & not only did they not speak to us they never came over to our table even though we waited long. When we got up & left we walked right by them & they didn't say anything. Very shocking, especially considering they wasn't busy.
Awesome desert oasis. Very friendly and helpful staff and owner. Great to see stars and milky way too. Would recommend!
This place has amazing views and a nice pool area. The owners are great and very friendly. It's a little far from the Ghost Town and the store, but that's what we were looking for. And the views along the way are definitely worth the drive. This place is so beautiful!
We were coming in very late and unfortunately could not find the RV park because of the dark sky regulations, the owners stayed in contact with us and set out in their vehicles with their lights on so we could find the entrance! They went above and beyond!
Had dinner at the restaurant. Very good green chicken enchiladas. Very nice place. Plenty of parking. Did not stay at the hotel.
We stopped by for a late lunch on our way back from the park. It was a quiet afternoon, but the service was friendly and quick. The food was very good and plentiful. We had the chicken enchiladas and carne asada tacos. We'll be back.
We stay here often on trips to Big Bend. Great staff. Great location.
Everything is great about this place. The owners are very nice and helpful, the rooms are great, location is great with scenic views, property has a swimming pool, grills, and a great restaurant onsite. I highly recommend this place to anyone traveling to the big bend.
4/25: 12 miles north of Terlingua, somewhat remote location. Advertises a restaurant and bar but when I showed up it was closed on Monday and Tuesday and I had counted on it being open, so I did not buy food or beer when I gassed up.
No ice machine.
Modestly priced and quiet, the rooms are a bit dated but very functional and clean.
The room is very comfortable and met all of our needs for visiting Big Bend National Park. The service was super friendly and the location was very convenient to the park!
So disappointing!
For the premium charged, you expect a certain level of accommodation. Well you won’t get that here. Upon arriving I could not see the mailbox key pickup since a truck was blocking it from view. As I approached the office I was met with hands waving in my face to stop me, followed with a very curt… “can I help you?• I preceded to tell her I had a reservation. She replied “ Check-in isn’t until 3:00 pm. Which is fine, but that information could have been included in the confirmation email of reservation. There are no TV’s in the rooms, no fixtures on the ceiling lights, no blow dryers, no shampoo or conditioner and very few towels for the number of people booked to the room. Only one decent bed in the room. The toilet was dirty. Really disgusted with the whole experience. If you are looking for any level of hospitality or comfort you won’t find it here. Oh and might I mention, the only donkeys on site here are the ones in the office.
We stayed here for several days while visiting the national park. Our room was simply furnished, but had everything we needed, and was absolutely spotless. Room had two beds, little fridge, microwave, coffee pot. There was even a little clothesline outside the door. It is QUIET out there—absolute peace. The hotel has a little restaurant specializing in Mexican fare. Everything we ordered over the course of our stay was delicious. The motel is also pet friendly. The staff was kind and helpful.
No complaints from us at all. Room was clean and quiet, beds were comfortable, shower had plenty of hot water, location is a short drive from park entrance. We would gladly stay again. Restaurant was also good, but please get more comfortable chairs 😂
