Maria's Country Kitchen Reviews
A solid three-star "OK". Chips seemed a little stale. Salsa was fair. Chicken quesadilla was good (3.5 stars). The small room was filling up on a Tuesday evening, 7.30ish, but we got a table right away. Our server was friendly - no impression that 'we weren't from around here'.The glowing reviews and the scary reviews both seem over hyped. Two small towns, not a lot of choices, and places close early (but note the time zone change crossing the state line on the way to Clayton).
Overall a good experience but nothing phenomenal. Restaurant was quaint and minimally decorated. Staff was helpful and available. My husband and I split a combination plate and it was plenty of food, especially for the price. Food was good, nothing wrong but nothing exceptional. Thankful it was as tasty as it was when the options on our drive were so limited!

The building was an old gas station at one time. It's painted a reddish color and sits on the corner but on the main drag. Not busy so walked in and sat. The waitress was very nice and friendly and took our order. We ordered omelets which came with hash browns and toast. The omelets were large and tasty. I ordered hash whites and they were perfect. The prices are extremely reasonable almost cheap. We were just passing through so we won't return but we highly recommend this place
