Earned 4 stars for the food today. A couple of service hiccups but hey,it's Cinco de Mayo so Fo Gid Aboud Id! While Abuelos is rarely my go to for Tex Mex, occasionally I do stop by for a decent meal. They've improved immensely over their decline a few years ago. We have always loved this place since they were in Lewisville. Once they closed due to I 35 expansion, we drive from Denton to the Colony. Up until the last 2 times food was great. The last 2 times, all of our meats (beef fajita & the chicken in the Pachuga dish) were super salty so much that they were difficult to eat. Not sure if it’s the marinade or the seasoning while cooking but I won’t be back to eat that.

Our visit started out excellent. We had the BEST waitress, literally the best we've ever had. She was efficient, order was flawless, refills kept coming and she checked on us several times. And the place was packed at 130pm with soccer families etc. So I was impressed!! Food was great, closest cooked mexican food from TX compared to NM Mexican food. We'll be back!!
Loved the fresh, thin , crispy chips and the 3 salsas, especially the tomatillo salsa! The triple fajitas (steak, shrimp, and chicken) and guac were ok, but nothing to brag about. The service was great!
We've been to the Plano location twice and really enjoyed it. This location is just as good! I usually get the chili Relleno but this time I opted for the Pescado Parrilla and it was excellent. Service was excellent as well. We'll be back!Dietary restrictions: I love returning to being Pescatarian now that they have fish options.
Here from out of town and my daughter wanted Mexican food. We found this place on yelp, I have to say I was a worried about the reviews, but it was close to our hotel. Well we were pleasantly surprised by the preparation and quality that was delivered. I was very authentic and delicious, dont be afraid to try a 3 1/2 start restaurant, maybe it will work out in your favor. Only giving 4 stars because our sever was over worked and had too many tables.
