Otherwise, I went for a dart tournament and there was plenty of dart boards and on the other side of the bar there was plenty of pool tables available. The bartenders/servers were good. They were attentive, friendly and all of my drink orders were correct. Prices were average. I would go back again so next time I may try the food.”

I had scrambled eggs and ham and the portions were awesome. Our server Isaac was excellent. We plan to return and try having lunch. I would recommend this little cafe, it's very spacious, the service is excellent; the food is delicious, and the coffee is great”

“My wife and I eat breakfast almost every weekend after our morning workout. It’s a little bit of “our time” on the weekend and the staff and food has always been great. But a few weeks ago they were busy and although the meal was good the service was a little lacking and upon checkout our server’s assistant was short and seemed irritated. We were surprised and as we left were talking about it and hostess overheard and we saw her go back and immediately say something to our server. We chalked it up to being short staffed and busy. Came back the next week and everything was great. Came again today and everything was great AND our server from the bad day waited on us and was great. Here’s the part that impressed me, as we were checking out she stopped and apologized for the service from a couple weeks before, didn’t make excuses, said she’d addressed the issue with her assistant and thanked us for coming back. Apologizing is a lost art, and we appreciated it so much that not only did she not get defensive she remembered the situation, it had clearly been on her mind since that day and she wanted to make it right. That tells me Barney’s is here for the long haul and has leadership that is inspiring the employees. Great job Barney’s! We will continue to our weekend breakfast dates for a long long time.”

“Kolaches (or kolbasneks if you wanna be prissy about it) here vary. When they're good they are astounding and when they're not good, it's mildly disappointing. Like I would avoid the ones with eggs because despite what the sign says, it's always almost exclusively eggs. Just about every other one is top tier. Even the standard jalapeno and cheese is one of the best I've had outside of Czech Stop, and much more local.”

The sushi was delicious, and the chicken ramen was particularly impressive. The broth was rich and flavorful, and the restaurant was spotless. They also have a complementary dessert for those with sweet tooths. The owner was friendly and attentive, and the service was quick and efficient. “So if you’re looking for the best coffee and service on the daily, no other place fits the need quite like Dutch Bros in The Colony.

I stop by Monday through Friday like it’s part of my morning routine, because honestly, at this point, it is. My go to drink is a large sugar free Golden Eagle, hot. I love it so much that I usually order two. One for my commute to Dallas, and one for the rest of my morning. And yes, by the time I’m writing this, commute coffee is already gone.

The ladies at the window are flat out amazing. Special shout out to Jackie, who may honestly be the funniest leader of any business I’ve ever come across. Her sense of humor and ability to make people smile early in the morning is hard to beat.

Now, as a gentleman in my 50s, I’ve learned a lot from this younger generation. Case in point, I had no idea I needed Crocs until Dutch Bros got involved. One giveaway Wednesday, I was offered some complimentary charms. For those of us who struggle with fancy words, complimentary means free. Don’t feel bad, it took me a minute too.

I accepted them proudly, opened them up, and had absolutely no idea what they were. I was then educated that they go into Crocs. Next thing you know, I felt obligated to buy a pair. Lo and behold, I found a camouflage pair that now perfectly complements my Dutch Bros charms. Stunning, honestly.

I’ve also collected their stickers, and naturally, I put them all over my college aged daughter’s laptop without her knowing. She later opened it at a certain green and white coffee shop, and let’s just say the reactions were priceless. Best laugh of my week.

So if you want great coffee, great service, hilarious morning energy, stickers, charms, and possibly a new Crocs addiction, go visit Dutch Bros in The Colony.

And whatever you do, don’t forget the Golden Eagle.
