“My wife and I eat breakfast almost every weekend after our morning workout. It’s a little bit of “our time” on the weekend and the staff and food has always been great. But a few weeks ago they were busy and although the meal was good the service was a little lacking and upon checkout our server’s assistant was short and seemed irritated. We were surprised and as we left were talking about it and hostess overheard and we saw her go back and immediately say something to our server. We chalked it up to being short staffed and busy. Came back the next week and everything was great. Came again today and everything was great AND our server from the bad day waited on us and was great. Here’s the part that impressed me, as we were checking out she stopped and apologized for the service from a couple weeks before, didn’t make excuses, said she’d addressed the issue with her assistant and thanked us for coming back. Apologizing is a lost art, and we appreciated it so much that not only did she not get defensive she remembered the situation, it had clearly been on her mind since that day and she wanted to make it right. That tells me Barney’s is here for the long haul and has leadership that is inspiring the employees. Great job Barney’s! We will continue to our weekend breakfast dates for a long long time.“

“The Baked Bear is a family favorite for our family of 5. The product and service are both generally amazing however, on this most recent visit, I was disappointed to witness a leadership opportunity wherein, what seemed to be, the shift manager or lead chose to educate a working staff member in a manner that leaned more on the side of reprimand than coaching. Each staff member was diligently and amiably working to serve the long line of patrons and seemed to be doing their best. It is quite possible that the leader on duty was experiencing issues of no relation to her staff or work but her behavior was received with ill regard by those of us in line so I can only imagine how her staff felt. Hopefully this was just a bad afternoon, if not then I hope this can he an opportunity to improve. Leadership should be demonstrated with grace and patience...if it is to be effectively received.“

“Looking for a bbq sandwich near me in a city I’m not familiar with. Dickeys came up at the top of the list. A bit disappointed upon arrival to a gas station, but after tasting the pulled pork, bbq beans & banana pudding, I knew I’d be back for the food, not the ambiance. Absolutely heaven! They had cole slaw, broccoli salad, mashed potatoes & fries as well as brisket & pork. I found the prices to be very reasonable also! Yum!“

“The guy working carryout was friendly and went out of his way to accommodate my requests. I think this is the first time we carried out and actually got everything we ordered correctly. My husband loved his monte cristi and the complimentary bread was so fresh and delicious. I ordered a 6 oz steak, medium rare, which was a little rubbery on the outside and overcooked. Unfortunately, fries never keep well in their Togo containers- also an issue with most other restaurants. The broccoli cheese casserole was great but I was a little disappointed with my meal as a whole. I guess you get what you pay for, because our bill was only 30 bucks for the both of us.“
