Food was ok, service horrible, my drink never got refilled. Asked for a spoon for my coffee by the time they brought it my coffee was cold and the utensils were covered with hair. Very horrible experience.

We were in the area and looking for a late lunch/early dinner. GPS "Food Near Me" offered it as an option. The hook for us was it was not a chain. We're retired, a bit older, and travel quite a lot. (think seven 9 to 20 day road trips and cruises in 2023). We like to eat? and prefer to avoid chain restaurants, where everything is OK. OK? Any way, we shared a Pot Roast. And a Kentucky Butter cake thing? Pot Roast was excellent with rich gravy, great flavor, fall into pieces beef and outstanding cornbread. I'm pretty sure the Kentucky Butter Cake thing was good, but She Who Must be Obeyed didn't let me get a lot of it??Try this place! It's worth the drive.

Discovered this charming gem of a restaurant, and it exceeded expectations! The BOB's were a hit—kudos to the chef for nailing my egg preferences. While my pancakes weren't super crispy on the edges, the flavor of the griddle cakes won me over. Big thanks to Morgan, our delightful server, for ensuring our meals were served piping hot!

FYI they close earlier than what they have posted online. I went ten minutes before closing one day to get something to go, but the door was locked.

We just happen to be driving by and the name caught our attention. We were pleasantly suprised at how much we enjoyed it. The service was great and the food was wonderful. We had the chicken n dumplins and the BBLT. Definitely putting this place in the rotation.

Food is creative, but it's been done. It's also priced high. That's the thing with southern cooking. It's damn good made cheap. This was okay, and pricey.Server botched all the orders. I know there are those who can take an order without writing it down, but if you can't, don't!

Wanting to some place new, I came to Down South... . The food was very good. The complimentary cornbread was awesome. The entree was delicious. The breafest sausage could have been seasoned a little spicier, as southern sausage should be. Sidney,my server is a true Southern Belle with her sweet southern voice and charm. When she spoke with me. Having been a Server,Bartender and Bar Manager, some times can make me hyper critical. But, I have an understanding of the job pitfalls and I can be very accommodating. My breakfest order cam with a side of pancakes. Being diabetic, and I asked for No Sugar Syrup, and I explained why to the server. Sidney with a sweet smile said no problem. I also asked for coffee and cream and a water. She brought me my coffee and water but no cream. I had to remind her. Food came within 10 minutes was hot and fresh. However, she did not bring the No Sugar Syrup and my pancakes were covered with a thin layer of powdered sugar. Which, is a nice southern touch. However, having explained that I am a diabetic, the server knowing the menu should have 86'd the Powdered Sugar. When dropping of my food, she asked if I'd like more coffee. Having 1/2 cup left, I said yes. She did not check back with me for 20 minutes or so. I had finished the main entree and had an empty coffee cup and glass of water, and was about to start my side of pancakes. I scraped off the Powdered Sugar, flagged Sidney down and asked her about the No Sugar Syrup and for more coffe and water. She never pre- bussed my table, leaving my finished plate and trash on my table. I pre-bussed and stacked plate and trash for her. Besides, the cardinal rule of letting drinks run dry, she never picked up the menu and left it on table for the entire meal. See attached picture. Being a former restaurant professional, I tipped her the standard 15%. Had she been more diligent and accommodating she would have gotten 25-30%. The Price for the meal was fair, food was excellent, however if this service is indicative of the establishment, I am leary to return. I am not a "Karen" type of person. I did not ask for the manager. I choose to express my feelings here.

It’s as close to moms cooking as you’ll find anywhere I’ve eaten. A bit challenging to access via the service road but worth the turn around. Chicken fried chicken and mashed potatoes were the bomb, cornbread was phenomenal, looking forward to checking out breakfast here, brownie skillet here I come.

Great experience overall! Upon walking in I was delighted with the decor and it wasn't too busy so we were seated immediately.I love that they have little games in the booths to keep your mind busy while you wait for your food to come out.I had the BBQ shrimp & grits with fried green tomatoes- really good flavor! a nice change from the traditional serving of this dish.My friend had the chicken fried chicken with collard greens and Mac. The greens were amazing!!! I know u can't trust everybody's greens but these were ?? frfrMacaroni was great tooWe did end up sending the chicken back tho- it just wasn't cooked well- waiter easily exchanged it for some wings that were okay. If I were to go back I wouldn't get any chicken.Banana pudding was nice and freshI really enjoyed the items for sale, super cute TY beanie babies keychains and little purses.Check out their display case with baked goods, might try a chocolate dipped Oreo next time!Kid-friendliness: Great gifts for kids mostly for girls
