I never take my own time to do reviews but days later I am still salty about this one so here I am. On April 16th, me and 15 others friends and family joined here to celebrate my birthday. We accommodated ourselves in the patio area since all the tables were empty and it seemed more private. My parents bought $250 worth of meats and different sides for the whole group to share. When we started eating one of my friends got up to get the complimentary beans and she got stopped by a worker as if she was stealing and not dining in with the group. Later, a cleaning lady came by and she wouldn’t leave our sight. She was basically almost kicking us out saying we had to leave and that she had to finish cleaning. The place close at 9 and it was 8:15pm when she kept hovering over our group. She was being really annoying trying to take our trash only so we could be out of there as soon as possible and she had a very mean attitude towards all of us. I recommended we all went to eat here because I had already dine in once with family and the food was good. With the experience I had with the service and the NOT so friendly staff in there, I will never go back. If y’all want to eat at a great bbq place, I recommend HUTCHINS BBQ in McKinney, the food is great, the staff is friendly and this would have never happened over there.

Nice place to get some good BBQ. Brisket was amazing and tender. Juicy! Pulled pork too. Ribs were just so so. Beer was cold and cheap.

We got the sandwich special. I had the chopped brisket, and to be honest I wasn't impressed. With all the good things I had heard about their BBQ, I was prepared for greatness, but it was just another chopped beef sandwich. Sorry guys!

Fantastic place to eat and a unique process! There's a local place where I live in Florida called Cryderman's and you can tell that Cryderman's pays homage to the style of BBQ found at Hard Eight. Also, the cobbler was top notch.

It pains me to write this review, but I was pretty bummed about my experience at Hard Eight. The people were nice, but the food was not my favorite, especially considering how much good BBQ we have had in the area.I do love how they have so many different types of meat to try, more than most bbq spots, so it was fun trying different stuff.Brisket - They cut their brisket a little different, they will stack multiple flats and slice it up. I got some of the point side, but there was hardly any bark. The meat was tender but the flavor was lacking.Pork ribs - pretty tender, but I must have gotten the end of the rack, a little unruly.Bologna - Not bad, but not much more interesting than any other bologna ive had.Spicy sausage - probably my favorite meat, really solid.Coleslaw - typical run of the mill mayo-based coleslawCreamed corn - Pretty good, but very sweet. The restaurant as a whole reminded me of eating at Knott's Berry Farm.

This was my first time at a pit BBQ and I was not disappointed. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, and the food was excellent. The spicy sausage was really well flavored and paired nicely with the hot BBQ sauce. I'm not sure what it is, but the beans out in Texas are also a cut above the rest, so get some of those.Would certainly recommend visiting in a group so you can try more of everything.
