Love seeing live music at Lava! So much more affordable than the 'real' bands at bigger venues. And probably much better!
Got tickets online and appears they were fraudulent somehow as it seemed we paid VIP prices but was GA tickets. In the mess of it all the staff especially Ricki made it right and went above and beyond to take care of us in a time of major disappointment. We will be back here without a doubt. Thanks Lava Cantina!!!!
Great food, fun, music & events. Always a good time with family & friends for live music.
This was one of the worst live concert venues I've ever been to personally. The sight lines from the rooftop area were not only bad, they were nonexistent. It was impossible to even see the stage from the rooftop area. The sound was worse than I could have thought possible. The entire upper rooftop area was covered with sound from two tiny JBL speakers. They were mid fill speakers at best and nowhere near adequate to cover that large of an area with full spectrum sound. The bass was completely missing from those extremely small speakers.
Even though it looked like there were plenty of house sound system speakers, those were not even being used. You could hear a distant rumble of sound coming from the stage that was so muddy it was unintelligible. The vocals were lost in the guitar, the sounds from all of the instruments and vocalist were jumbled together and not distinct. The video screen was out of sync and not time aligned with the audio. It made watching the video from the cameras extremely difficult and actually caused a headache because the time alignment was so bad.
I don't know who was hired to do the mixing but it sounded like the main mix console was handed over to a Junior High kid that didn't even know how it worked. The audio was so bad that it did not even sound like the bands themselves were doing the songs. It sounded like a bad cover band was performing instead of the real bands.
I was so disgusted with how bad the sound was and the complete lack of visibility of the stage that I left before the main act even came on. The overall design of the venue was extremely bad and no one took into consideration the ability of the patrons to actually see the band performing live.
I went again in Aug 2025 and from the ground the sound was much better. The food was terrible though and the great Mexican restaurant I was bragging to my friends about was nowhere to be found. We had to pick from store-bought pizza, wings or cheese sticks that were warmed up. Awful.
The event organization lacks organizing it needs to be studied. I heard great things from my friends about their experience here but was extremely disappointed. They have advertised an event for 99-00s music but no cancelation notice was sent prior to the date which is deliberate scamming their patrons. They scanned our tickets at the front but said nothing about the cancelled event. We only noticed nothing was going to happen after about half an hour of country music and no other set up was going on in the background. That's when we asked for the bill and boxes to go . Anyway the 1 is star for the supervisor on duty who heard our concern and was very emphatic. He refunded our tickets no problems whatsoever. The second star belongs to the wait/servers who made sure we are all taken care of. Lava Cantina was more like Glacier cantina, ain't nothing going on there.
Fun, good food but table and chairs are raggedy snagged my clothes. Need a mist machine or fans outside for the price
Was closed on a Sunday afternoon.
Need to update hrs and dates of service.
Staff was nice. Building needs repairs. Only came for Sunday event which is now canceled permanently. Food provided by vendors only. KJ BBQ was good food.
This place is always so much fun. We had VIP seats close to the stage. But the heat kicked our butts. No huge fans to help move the heat away. I love the venue and the bands but they really need large fans with misters in Texas during the heatwaves.
Poor planning, event was not organized or ready at time advertised. The kitchen was closed, and they only offered one food truck option and would not allow patrons who prepaid by purchasing online tickets to leave and get good and return. This is the second time I've been to this establishment, and both times, I've been disappointed. The first time we drove here and upon arrival were informed that it was closed for a private event and when we questioned why this wasn't advertised on their website? The response was just... sorry for any inconvenience. After two visits, I'm not sure this is nothing more than an event space.

Excellent, beautiful indoor outdoor concert place
Really Cool Place to see A Concert!
Mostly standing room only BUT some paid seating options. Partially covered and Partially Open Outdoor Area where the stage area is.
I would definitely enjoy going again.
Long Island iced tea... worst Long Island ever.. bartender said its pre-made. It tasted like flavored water. He made one on the rocks, it was still like water.. paid $32 for 2 short glass.... I'll never order another drink here
Me and some friends attended an event there and it was below average to be nice. The air had to be turned off in the building, especially in the women's restroom. There was only one food option, and it was nasty (BBQ plates). The drinks are being served at a flat rate with minimal options. The women's restroom may have had 2 stalls stocked with tissue, the sink was clogged, the restroom was dirty as well. Just really not the best at all.
Here visiting from The Chi,my second home is TX, this place is always having nice events, great DJs, live music 🎵🎶 and plenty of beautiful ladies!!!
