This only my second time eating at Salt Grass, and most likely my last!!
First of all whats on the Happy hour menu is not Supposed to be the Same price as the Dinner Menu. Such as the waitress Racheal told us that Everything was half off on the Drink Menu. How Ever She Failed to Tell Us That Shots Were Not Included On The Happy Hour Menu!!
That we’re $11.25 a piece until we were ready to total out for the evening. And after bringing it to the managers attention just to find out that he some how can’t subtract that by Texas law from my bill because of it being alcohol.
Mind you both of our Streak were Very Tuff and No Where Near How We Ordered Them This was The Result of Our Evening!!!!

When a few months back we were counting our day to get back to Texas to Salt Grass when we go to close on our New Home in Aubrey!! Just so you guys know Nick is the manager and wasn’t very helpful in the situation at all.

Went to celebrate my son-in-laws 21st birthday. The whole experience was terrible. The 4 steaks came out, all were overcooked- one was so bad, we sent it back. When my steak came out, the side of broccoli was missing. It was 3/4 through the meal before my side came out., My daughter's steak came out after the rest of us were finished eating. The waiter was MIA most of the meal. We ran dry on drinks during the meal. We had to ask to have them refilled. There were several dirty table around us that were never cleaned although nobody were seated at them from the time we walked in. The manager did give us a 50% discount. I would rather have had a full priced good experience. The waiter dropped the check before my daughter finished her meal. We had planned on ordering dessert but were never given the opportunity. I hope the general manager reads this and fixes the problems so others don't have the same awful experience.

It’s not what went wrong, but what all went RIGHT! Being a manager in the service/retail industry, I am hardly impressed. Tonight I was more than impressed, I was left inspired and motivated to create the exact experience I received tonight. Tonight, my family and I went out to celebrate my mother’s birthday. To be honest, Saltgrass was an after thought, but because of a lack of patience for wait times, we chose to eat here! I am happy we made this choice. From the beginning, we received a warm and accommodating welcome from one of the hostess Steven. He was relentless in his quest to accommodate us and give us comfortable seating with my mother who was older in age. Although it was not the exact table we wanted, I soon forgot that fact with how wonderful Steven was. Way to go Steven. Next, was our server Marcus. Marcus was delightful and energetic! He was attentive and so welcoming! One of the best servers I have had in a long time. Despite all of this, our steak was overcooked, we wanted medium rare, but received medium/medium well. We brought that to Marcus’s attention and he immediately made the moment right. This is when we met the manager Chelsea, who’s hospitality put us at ease, to allow us to feel that we were not a burden. They were relentless in giving us a great experience and make the moment right! This may seem trivial to some people, but I am so appreciative of this experience! Thank you all who were involved, from the entrance into the restaurant to leaving the restaurant, other restaurants take heed!

Saltgrass has always been a reliable spot for family celebrations, which is why we chose it for my father’s 60th birthday lunch. Unfortunately, this visit was a complete disaster from start to finish.

Upon being seated, our server—who had a trainee with her—took our drink orders. When the drinks arrived, the trainee accidentally dropped the entire tray, drenching my father (the birthday boy), my brother (who had to return to work afterward), and partially soaking my sister and me. It was a complete mess.

To her credit, the server panicked but tried her best. She immediately called the manager. Shockingly, the manager never showed up—not to check on us, not to apologize, not to offer any kind of help or acknowledgment. We sat there in wet clothes and disbelief.

Trying to salvage the lunch, we continued with our meal. My father's steak was overcooked and dry, and his top-shelf margarita was sickeningly sweet. At this point, the mood was beyond repair. Still, the manager never came.

After we finished—still in wet pants—I asked to speak with the manager, Nick Ponton. His response was baffling. Rather than apologize or show any accountability, he was cold, dismissive, and completely lacking in emotional intelligence. As someone with years of experience in the fine dining industry and restaurant management, I was stunned by how poorly he handled the situation.

We weren’t asking for a free meal—we were asking for acknowledgment, basic hospitality, and professional courtesy. Instead, we were ignored, dismissed, and made to feel like an inconvenience.

To the General Manager, Craig Brown: I sincerely hope you take a hard look at how your leadership team represents your restaurant. This experience was beyond disappointing, and it’s because of management—not your server—that we won’t be returning to this location, and possibly not to Saltgrass again.

Saltgrass is not a fast-food joint. It's meant to be a sit-down, full-service experience. But with managers like Nick at the helm, that standard has clearly been lost.

Its shameful how bad this establishment has become! I wish there was one positive thing i can say but the whole experience was horrible and to add insult to injury it did cost around $120 for 2 people 😳

I came here for a work trip and we had Josh as our server. Josh was amazing! He took us to our table and served us. He did it all with a smile on his face and a great attitude. Very accommodating and quick for our group of 4. He better be a manager by the time we return!

She made me feel truly welcomed and taken care of throughout the entire meal. Every detail, from drink refills to checking in at the right times, was handled perfectly. From the moment we walked in, the service, ambiance, and food were exceptional. The staff was warm, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care that we had a great experience. Josh our server was phenomenal and made it that much better!! Every dish we ordered was flavorful, perfectly cooked, and beautifully presented — you can really taste the quality and care that goes into the food.

We’ll definitely be back soon. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience!
