They have new recliners in the theaters that are even more comfortable than the old ones. You press a button, even during the movie, and a wait person will take your order and bring your food and drinks. I enjoyed the BBQ chicken flatbread and brownie sunday.

I have been coming to SMG The Colony for several years, and I would say was a regular for the past 3 years. In the summer when it is too hot or winter my son and I catch a movie and bite just to spend time together.My last visit was the absolute worst most unprofessional visit and I strongly advise anyone to not visit this theatre.Visit started like any other, arrived 10 minutes early to place order and people watched all the people file in for the movie. As usual my son and I ordered an appetizer and 2 burgers. He and I love burgers, and from Whataburger, to In/Out, to Lazy Dog, and Burger King, that is our thing.Movie started app came out was great. Burger came out, and I took 2 bites and burger was NOT Good. Looked over and my son was also not eating his burger, and I leaned over and asked him if his food was good, and he said NO!. I buzzed the server and informed her burgers were not good and she apologized and asked if there was anything else she could get us.We ordered a pizza to share, and then ordered a desert.Just to quantify, I am 5'10" 185, son is 5'9" 145, and we can eat, but not that much food! After the movie receipt cam out and charged us for both burgers, and pizza, drinks, appetizer, and desert. I asked the server why we were charged for burger and she replied, I put a $5 off coupon in for your next visit.I asked to speak to manager and here is where things went South. First off, manager was very cold and did not seem to want to help. I think his name was Jeff, but he did not introduce himself, I was trying to look at his name tag.I explained to him the situation and his first response was."You both ate almost all your burger."I was like hold on, we both took 1 or 2 bites and that is not "Over half".I explained that was not true and we ordered more food after that. His response. It doesn't matter you ate over half your burger.I then explained the burgers were not good, neither my son nor I thought they tasted right.His response, I ate a burger today and it tasted fine.Of course I am getting frustrated now, so I respond, do you taste every burger that comes out of your kitchen to make sure it is good.He then states we gave you a $5 off coupon.So I come back with so we pay for the movie and dining experience and event though our food was not good all we get is a $5 off coupon for our next movie. They does not seem fair.He then looks at me and goes, I am done with you sir, I was very respectful to you, and did not yell at you and you just won't accept my answer.At this point I ask him, we are unhappy with this entire experience b/c of the full charge for all food, and the guy simply just walks off.I then follow up with SMG Corporate, they send an auto reply and I have not received any response since then.Terrible experience. Food will not always be perfect, I get that. Maybe meat was bad, maybe cook got distracted and left it on too long, it's fine, it was fixed by getting different food. But don't charge your customers for all the food and accuse them of eating all of the bad food.I will be taking my business elsewhere.

We were excited to give this place a try. My mom and i ordered. Her food was OK. My pizza was nasty, so i sent it back. I ordered a hatch chili chicken pasta, which came out cold. The waiter told me that they had issues with the dish coming out cold. I got the taco salad. It was covered in chili powered. I didnt eat it. The movie was almost over so after it ended i found an employee to ask them to adjust my ticket. The assistant GM helped us. He was very short with us and didn't want to adjust my ticket because i had sent back the first 2 meals because of issues with them. He said he would give us a pass for the next visit. I informed him i would not be returning. He did adjust my ticket to refund the taco salad. But was still very short with us and acted like they were doing me a favor by not charging me for the meals that were not eaten and were messed up. I did reach it to the GM but never received a response.

The seats are DISGUSTING sticky crooked and some are rolling desk chairs the food looks rotten. The lights are to bright the chairs are messed up and put in random places the tables and chairs are sticky and there’s residue in the cup holders along the fact that the QR code menus are only on half of the chairs. They don’t clean before and after the movies and it is overall the worse theater I’ve been to.

The chairs at this location are amazing! They’re so comfortable and recline back nicely to make the movie experience even that much better. The manager Christian was greeting people before and after the show which I thought was a nice touch! The food came out warm and was very fast. Our server Bella was so attentive and was very sweet. The location itself was extremely clean and the staff were all engaged and welcoming. We love coming to this location!

Popcorn not fresh enough they need to make a fresh batch regularly and chunk the stale portions. Food was nice and hot!! Wings were delicious!!

Update 2024: The staff, food etc were great but it's 2024 and they don't have powered recliners?? They have manual recliners?! This is ridiculous and stupid. We won't be back because of this...2018: This is by far one of my favorite theaters to go to in the area. The seats are great. The staff is always awesome. The food is usually really good. And it's very affordable. Great sound and screens. It's one step down from iPic as far as feeling VIP. It's pretty nice. The prices are really good to considering I get it’s almost the same price is just a regular theater. In some cases it’s cheaper.The only con with SMG is the incredibly broad inconsistency. It’s crazy how different one theater can be from the next. Different seats and setup is the major odd thing. The one in Lewisville still has office chairs for seats. The one in Irving is more like a low in AMC. Is large and seats don't decline. Went to one in Atlanta and you had to recline manually and the entire theater looked different on the inside... Just saying this could be their undoing. Confidence comes from consistency. Users whether it’s online or shopping or any type of experience restaurants etc. they want consistency. I know I do. But this one location in the colony is the diamond in the rough.On my thing and I’m off my soapbox. I’m sick of the year is charging tax and fee to book online. When did this become a thing? So yes the steering it’s five stores without a doubt but all theaters are now charging booking fees and tax fees which is just raise the price and keep it simple. I’d rather pay $10 instead of $8 and I had to hassle with taxes and sets what happened of the days we just went to the room at $8 dollars or $10 for movie.Almost all Theaters in the area offer reserved seating and even most of them offer some sort of Dine-in menu. But this takes it to another level. I hope you enjoy going to the movies if you do you will enjoy this theater.Back to the specific location though it is awesome. The staff is fast quick and accurate and always friendly. The food is 99% really good. I highly recommend the chicken quesadillas, the flatbreads really good, the coconut chicken tenders are really good, the fish and chips are really good usually. Everything I’ve had us is pretty good give or take a few mishaps and things like that much better than any other theater been to you.
