The Crab Station - The Colony

I would like to start out by saying this is by far the worst customer service experience I have ever experienced. I waited close to an hour from arriving just to get appetizers which were wings. Not once did our server Taylor check on me and my husband. He was everywhere and nowhere at the same time. He didn’t put in our appetizer order until I inquired about the 40 minute wait time on the wings - then proceeds to tell me it’ll be about 5-10 minutes. Honestly it ruined my experience with this restaurant.

The prices went up from the menu that was posted under a review. $16.95 for oyster Rockefeller as opposed to $10.95. Below is the menu I thought I was getting. I was upset about the price difference but stayed to see if the food was worth it. It wasn’t. The service was fine. I don’t blame him. There was only one server/bartender and hostess, so 2 front of house employees. The food quality and service is not there to justify the prices. Will not be going back.

1st time trying cooked oysters, they came highly recommended, and they taste great. The staff was professional and knowledgeable and gave good suggestions. The location is great. It is small on the inside and can get loud. The boil was garlic heavy, but the shrimp and crab legs were fresh and sizeable.

I was surprised and disappointed by my recent experience at this restaurant. We arrived at 7:55 PM, well before their advertised closing time of 9 PM, only to be told they stop seating at 8 PM, with takeout available until 8:30 PM. While I understand policies regarding kitchen hours, it’s unusual for a restaurant to turn away dine-in customers a full hour before closing. Unfortunately, takeout wasn’t an option for us, as raw oysters don’t travel well for a long drive home.

I could understand being turned away closer to closing, but an entire hour in advance seems excessive. It’s a shame because we were looking forward to dining here, but this experience left us disappointed.

I decided to order the catfish po boy & a shrimp po boy for my wife. The portions were generous. The catfish was crisp and flakey inside with lettuce, tomatoes, onion, and mayo. The fries were cooked to my liking, which made the perfect taste & bite. I'll definitely be back to try something else..

As a seafood lover, I always prioritize seafood wherever I go. I tried Crab Station in The Colony, Texas, but the food was just Average. The service was disappointing, as the staff didn’t seem to care and were not warm or welcoming. The food was just average, and overall, the experience wasn’t good. I won’t be going back to this place again.

I placed an order worth over $200 and drove 30 minutes to pick it up, only to find out they gave my food away! The quality here has gone downhill, and the service is completely unorganized. This was their last chance, and they blew it—I’m officially done. Save yourself the frustration and don’t waste your time!

I ordered a pound of blue crab. They were a great size and all but the sauce is quite sweet. Would’ve tasted waaayyy better with no sauce. Therefore, I’m gonna order them again..with no sauce.

Arrived at 8:30 even though store suppose to be open until 9. 1/17. This is an absolute waste. Called repeatedly but no one answered even though the workers were waking around inside. Wil never be back.

This was my first ever crab boil! I built my own boil bag and bf got the Caribbean.

Bf got a steal for sure. So much crawfish and shrimp for the price. He said the shrimp was amazing and it came out of the shell with no resistance.

I got a snow crab cluster and lobster tail with corn in the garlic sauce (I don’t like spice). Tbh, I wouldn’t recommend this sauce. It was strong garlic flavor to the point of almost burning my mouth. They give you a tiny thing of butter to go with but it tasted like what you put on movie theater popcorn (that being said, I did completely finish the butter).

Bf and I both completely finished our meals with nothing left behind. We thought the value was decently good and our server was attentive. The butter was weird, though, and we were not offered lemons or any lemon flavor.

For my first crab boil I would say I enjoyed it. Just don’t get the garlic butter sauce.

The business has a very deceiving practice by charging you an 18-20% Gratuity while labeling it as a “Tip” when by Law a tip is a voluntary decision made by the customer and not by the restaurant. If you’re going to upcharge someone with an 18% involuntary tip, you need to inform your customers that you are practicing this policy. They told us they had “signs everywhere” but they didn’t and they don’t warn or inform you that they are in fact acting on this policy. Food wasn’t even good and the service was very understaffed.

Justin and Tasha was great! the food was GREAT! The service was top tier! The Garlic Parm Oysters were on another level!! 20 out of 10 recommend if you ste looking for seafood in the dfw!
