Food is absolutely delicious !!! Service was on point and atmosphere is near perfect but some seating is tight. There are seats very near the front door and some very close to the kitchen/bar. Making some seating not the best ambience you might envision considering the restaurant itself is beautifully decorated.

The service is good. We didn't wait long for the food; it's good food, nothing spectacular. I ordered chicken tacos, gratin with cheese. The prices are reasonable.

I was blown away by the tequila list — so many premium options! Pair that with a perfectly mixed margarita and you’re in heaven.

As for the food, I highly recommend Josper grilled chicken.

If you’re looking for an awesome, high-end Mexican dinner in The Woodlands, Monarca Modern Mexican Cocina is the place to go. Great food and the minute you walk in, you’ll love the cool vibe and great energy. It’s perfect for a fun date night or celebrating something big. They make killer cocktails that are definitely worth trying, and the service was spot-on, helping us find all the best stuff on the menu. If you’re looking for bold flavors and a memorable time, you absolutely have to hit up Monarca. Five stars, no question.

Last night's dinner at Monarca Modern Mexican Cocina in Houston was nothing short of spectacular. It all starts with the brilliance of Chef Diego de la Torre.
From the moment we were seated, the service was impeccable—attentive, knowledgeable, and perfectly timed. Our server was fantastic, guiding us through the menu and making excellent recommendations.

But the star of the show is the food. Chef Diego de la Torre's vision for Modern Mexican cuisine is stunning. Every dish we tried was a vibrant and thoughtful masterpiece that respectfully pushes the boundaries of traditional flavors. Even the simplest items, like their house-made salsas, showcased an incredible level of care and freshness.
If you are looking for an exceptional dining experience where world-class cuisine meets superb hospitality, look no further than Monarca. Chef Diego de la Torre is bringing something truly special to the Houston dining scene and will even brighten your evening with a good joke or two

Excellent! I ordered TACOS GOBERNADOR and they were absolutely DELICIOUS! I highly recommend. It comes with 3 but I’d already enjoyed one before I decided to photograph! I will definitely be back. I look forward to ordering them again soon!

I had a private party for 35 people at the speakeasy and it was outstanding. We had live music, a dedicated server and a bartender. Everyone had a great time and was quite impressed with the place. I am still getting raving reviews about the food. Overall we had a great time. Sebastian, the manager, was great to work with and was always on top of every single detail. I would definitely recommend this place for a special celebration.
