I had a very upsetting experience at this coffee shop. My husband went inside to order two lattes while I sat outside at one of the picnic tables to finish a breakfast sandwich I had just gotten (I’m four months pregnant and can’t eat most of the items on their menu so I sat outside to finish it before going in to be respectful). The owner came out and told me that the tables were for customers only and no outside food was allowed. I explained that I was a customer but understood and would throw the food away immediately.
When my husband came out with the coffee he threw away the food and she returned and began speaking to my husband about it AGAIN after the food was gone in a raised tone, repeating that she asked us bc to have food there was disrespectful and rude and started to go in on insults towards us. Even though we complied and threw away the food, she continued confronting us, which made us uncomfortable.
During this time, we observed other guests sitting inside upstairs food, and some with no coffee or food from the establishment so it felt like we were being treated differently. This made the interaction even more upsetting.
I hope the management takes this as feedback to handle situations more calmly and consistently. Based on our experience, I would never recommend this place its supposed to be a local coffee shop and it was traumatizing to say the least.
This is my favorite coffee shop in North Houston.
I’ve been to a ton of coffee shops, but Third Gen consistently has the best coffee, and is a great place to sit down and work or hang out with friends. The coffee is also priced pretty reasonably compared to some shops.
If you’re looking to grab good quality coffee in the Woodlands area look no further.
Only downside is the upstairs area can be kind of cold when the AC is blasting.

The manager or whatever- Rachel- RUINED the whole experience. Her staff is great but it’s a bummer when the people up top are so rotten. Unfortunately, so many coffee shops have had terrible issues with Third Gen management copying and throwing businesses under the bus. Check out somewhere else!!!!
Honestly……. This place was really swell for a first time visitor 🖤

I love the coffee here. I hate broadcasting that because they stay busy. Stay away from the banana bread....... I want it all for myself!!!!
Nice place, cool atmosphere, the owners are friendly. I hope to return soon. Coffee is amazing. I didn't ever think I would find a replacement for starbucks, but it is here. They also have these little pre-made coffee drinks that are very much like the frappacinos you get at the gas station. They're amazing.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. My partner and I were stopping by from out of town, as I love local coffee shops! The coffee tastes burnt even with added flavors the burnt taste of the coffee is very prominent. My partner got an iced matcha, consider it matcha flavored milk. It was a pale green and tasted as if the matcha was whispered into the milk. Coffee aside the atmosphere was very cozy and actually enjoyable to lounge in. The service was mediocre, when my partner and I went to grab our drinks the baristas were having a conversation, they gave us a side eye when we had asked for clarification if the drinks were ours, as if we were interrupting them. There was no welcoming “hello” as soon as you walk in the door or “have a good day”. The baristas did not seem like they enjoyed working their jobs. Maybe management should review their employees customers service. I wanted to enjoy this place considering the good reviews, but I’m unfortunate to say I did not enjoy my visit to Third Gen.

This is our first time visiting Third Gen Coffee Shop. I tried the lavender latte and it was very good. I bought my son a Caramel Frappuccino, and he loved it. It was a great experience. Thank you for the wonderful time.

Got a frozen coffee and an iced chai latte both came out super fast and taste amazing! Staff was super nice. Really nicely decorated and some really comfy looking couches.
Only downside was both upstairs and downstairs seats were filled to the brim not an open seat anywhere so we had to leave even though we planned to stay for a bit.

Best Coffee in town, but, the internet situation is so bad I can recommend people go here. It works 50% of the time, and occasionally they ban all social networks, including Outlook, Slack, Jira, the tools professionals use to communicate, just, why? They switch away from xfinity as well, so I can't just hop on the Hotspot network
I don’t normally have high hopes for suburban coffee shops, they’re often a cookie cutter experience for people who don’t really like coffee but don’t want to go to Starbucks. Third Gen is not that. I had a great experience here. Brilliantly prepared coffee, great selection of snacks and breakfast items, all in a comfortable and friendly spot. Dogs are allowed downstairs, which is a big plus in my opinion. There is a ample space to sit and relax, and even a good outdoor area for cooler weather.
