I used to be a big fan of Abuelos in Tulsa, OK so when i was in town for work in Tyler wanted to come in again. I was very disappointed. The bacon wrapped shrimp is not at all like it used to be- had some kind of weird hollandaise sauce on it?! Shrimp were so small and pathetic. Service at the bar was awful. There was maybe 5 others at the bar and i couldnt even get a drink for about 10 mins after sitting down. She had to go close someone out first before getting to me. Charro beans were cold and gross. Dont go to this place, there is much better mexican joints. This is on my do not return list.

Overpriced food and drinks, highly overrated. Better off eating at home and saving your money

I'll start by saying I absolutely hate driving to Tyler...with that being said, stopping by Abuelo's makes it worth it. The food is amazing, I'd strongly recommend the queso Diablo appetizer as well as the chimichanga entree. The prices are reasonable, especially given the quality and portion size of the meals. And if you're lucky enough tk have Morgan as your server, her service can't be beaten. She was very pleasant to deal with and super attentive to multiple tables during a very busy time and still kept up with refills and stopping to check on us. If there was a way to rate Abuelo's higher than 5 stars, they'd deserve it.

The food was a little over cooked , especially the shrimp and the beef fajita meat. Also i got a plate to take home for my hubby and the sides were left out the burrito was not put together neat it was very sloppy not at all what we expected or the quality we usually recieve. The service was top notch, atmosphere was great except couldnt get my wheelchair in the handicap accesible stall , it is a 20 inch chair so not even that big, but the door wouldnot close and still allow me to use the rr. So a lady was nice enough to watch out for me and didnt let anyone in till i was done using the bathroom. Thank goodness.

I can't for the life of me understand how this place stays in business. Worst Mexican food I have ever had. I couldnt tell if the food was old or if it was usually this bad.

An upscale modern tex mex place with large portions. It is a bit loud inside. The food is good and no one should leave hungry as the portions are very large. We have been here multiple times and the service is prompt although sometimes with a large party food comes out in waves.

I always have a good experience when I go here... Food is always solid and usually I get a really good server... The green salsa is the best out of the three they offer. Love having the option to replace rice and her beans with papas. Great desserts and drinks as well
