I don't know if it was the server or the kitchen, but I specified several items to be left off my dish and had all of those items, which I don't like, piled on the plate in contact with my food. The only part they got right was the rice, which I substituted a different one.
I've also never encountered fajita meat that was completely void of seasoning, until I came here. Nothing tasted bad, at least, but none of it tasted good either. Not nearly worth the price.

The worst meal and service I have ever had here. I ordered the 2 Chile Rellanos one comes with shredded beef and one comes with a cheese blend. The waitress brought me a plate with a cheese rellano and a cheese enchilada. My husband told her that is not the correct plate. She took my plate back to have it fixed. She later brings me the same plate back ( now cold) with a separate plate containing a cheese filled Chile rellano. Now I have a cold plate and both Rellanos are cheese. My husband has finished eating and I am not going to eat a cold rellano. I eat the hot rellano and we pay and leave. We did point out that she brought me two cheese rellanos instead of a shredded beef and cheese. They took the cost of the plate off the total.. but what a mess. I had to stop on the way home for something to eat and not even an apology.

First and last time i will eat here. The waitress brought the wrong order twice and when I asked her for the right order she made a face and did not offer bringing in the correct order. Extremely poor service. How hard is courtesy and customer service. All I wanted was a proper meal.
Great food at a good price and good service.
Love their Tortilla soup. Have been eating it since they opened in the 80's.

Good food and good service. I was expecting a little bit more of mexican plates. Real enchiladas for example or real tamales perhaps.

I bought the fajita nachos and for the price I'd say i got my money's worth. The thing this Mexican restaurrant has that others don't is that it's gave me salsa Verde with my food and it was a plus I didn't know I needed, it complimented the food very well in a way I didn't know it needed.
I'd say it is worth the money for amount of food I'm getting. I'll definitely be going back again.

We try to eat at Abuelo’s everytime we’re in Tyler. Always great food and service. The tortilla soup was pretty spicy. Love the trio of sauces they serve with the chips. My husband had a stuffed shrimp and steak combo. The steak was melt in your mouth tender. It was served with a yummy potato dish and spinach with mushrooms.
Melanie was our waitress & did a FANTASTIC job! Food was good, atmosphere was beautiful. Met some McNeese State fans here.

Delicious, and the waiter explained the menu to us very clearly. I had the chile relleno, enchilada, papas de chile (mashed potatoes), and the mixed vegetables. Every part of that dish was excellent.
