I haven't been here in a while because I don't live in Tyler. But I'm working next door at UT on a construction site. Went to lunch there today and tried the Cajun fried catfish. WOW it was amazing! Cooked fresh. Super friendly staff! Everyone spoke to me and was friendly. It's a self service restaurant however the girl came and checked on me twice, offered to get me tea both times And got me a to go box. Great job everyone!! I'll definitely be back!!

12/27/25 I ordered through the drive through and waited 15 minutes since I ordered Cajun seasoning on my catfish. When the cashier brought me my order she repeated the order and stated they have been having issues in the kitchen all day. With that in mind I checked my order and the catfish looked pale no seasoning so I took it back inside and told the cashier inside, the order didn’t have Cajun on it she looked at the other cashier and they both agreed it was? I looked puzzled and I said I don’t think it did and she just ignored me and she kept taking someone’s order. I went outside and asked my daughter and she said no that isn’t and I took it back inside and the cashier ran away from the counter and she yelled she would be with me soon? I told her no I have already been waiting and it was wrong so I left the food and the receipt on the counter for them I don’t want wrong food. As a matter of fact the shrimp I ordered was nasty and rubbery not fit to eat either . I definitely see the issues thy are having and losing customers left and right.

I have been a loyal customer for them for many years until today (12-27-25). I ordered Cajun style catfish filets and paid $1.50 for the Cajun seasoning as it says on the order board. I waited in the drive thru for over 15 minutes, the worker admitted they were having issues in the kitchen which I completely understand. But they gave me plain catfish at first I thought it was an honest mistake so I went inside and simply said “This isn’t Cajun style” both cashier workers glanced at the food and said it’s Cajun. I gave them a confused look and stated “No this is not, there is absolutely no seasoning whatsoever on it?” The workers proceeded to walk away and tend to other customers. Neither of them offered to exchange the food or give me a refund. I’m sorry but that is poor customer service, and they have lost a loyal customer. I will not be going back !!!

We went there hoping for grilled fish and shrimp, but these are not available there. The baked fish was good and the drive-through cashier/server was really helpful, nice and polite.

The rice was overcooked and mushy. The baked catfish was soggy and tasteless. The floors in the table were very dirty, and the trash bin was so filthy, I didn’t wanna push it open. By far, the worst place I have ever eaten.
I love catfish, so I was thrilled when my husband took me to Catfish King. The catfish fillets were absolutely heavenly!! All the sides were fantastic as well. We will definitely be regulars because it's hard to get really good catfish, but this is definitely the place!!!! Returned and the food was even better!!! The new hushpuppies are great!! All the staff were super kind and treated us like family!
