What do I like most about Daniel Boones??? Great food? Fast and friendly service? Extremely reasonable prices on the menu loaded with options? The complimentary pre-meal beans/chili or post meal Blue Bell ice cream?? OK, OK it’s all included in my very satisfied experience!! Big added bonus: on most weekends, very talented bands play from 6:00 to 9:00 PM in the large side room with no cover charge. It is good to call ahead for a reservation since many eves fill up. If you forget to reserve, walk in anyway. You may get seated. I am a customer, just like you. I just wanted to pass on the news that a great dining value exists here on your doorstep. Bill Beasing

We do not live in Tyler, but we often visit, and we always eat here. We can count on great service and yummy food. On this visit, I wanted something simple, so I had the salad and baked potato - perfectly cooked potato and fresh salad. It hit the spot!

One could probably spend a couple of hours just looking at all of the decorations and still not see everything. Daniel Boone's is what you expect a tavern to look like.
Now, the food was amazing and decently priced, as well. Around $44 for three people. I got the Griddle Steak, which is a chicken fried steak but no breading. He got the Chicken Fried steak and his son just got a cheeseburger. We all enjoyed our food. Especially the fries dipped in the white gravy. The mashed potatoes were not hot but not cold either. Other than that, I thought that they were good but he had to add salt and pepper to his.
It took a little bit to get noticed but Andrew was a good server. Very polite.

Great place to eat kinda pricey but fun atmosphere.
Chicken fried steak lacks a little oomph breading comes off when you try to cut it but it tastes great overall it's pretty good just a bit high priced for my tastes.

Our absolute favorite in Tyler, the menu variety is great, service has been great every time. The beans and ice cream are an awesome extra. Prices are what they are, for the time we live in.

One of the best places to eat in tyler.
The restaurant is in a mall, once you cross the door it is Nice. The interior, very country like. The best for me was the bar in the back of the restaurant. The the bartender the local folks were wonderful. My food was good, the menu has lots of fried items delicious. I ended up having a salad with grilled chicken. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Husband had 3 grilled pork chops. The pork chops were very thin, on the dry side. Servings of veggies in tiny bowls. I had the veggie plate which included a choice of 4. I can't say mine came close to a full meal. Waitress was not good. She seemed more attentive to the regulars and young bucks more than us being new customers. We marked this one off our list to go again.

Not a bad take on Texas cuisine. Claims best CFS in East Texas. Mine wasn't bad at all, could have been cooked a little longer in my opinion but was "done". Gravy seemed instant, but tasted ok. Recipe is good, just needs a little more love. Hard to find real chicken fried steak these days. My kids had the "Beef tacos". Looked delicious. The shells have been crisped up very nice. Only problem is the taco meat used isnt very flavorful. Just some ground beef with some seasoning salt. Hot sauce is pretty average. These could be better for sure. Bacon cheese fries came out hot and had plenty of cheese. Ranch dressing was good and not the bottles variety but was a bit thin like it's stretched. Atmosphere wasn't my favorite because the place is a bit cramped and tables too close to other diners. Booths have hard seats like your sitting in a courthouse or church. Decorations in restaurant are interesting and have a cafe type feel. Staff was all nice and professional. Jordan does a good job of making people feel welcome.

I always get the Cornbread Meal w/ chili beans or the "Chilly" bowl. Both are pretty good. The cornbread muffins are awesome. I took a walk on the wild side once and ordered the tacos. Wasn't a fan at all. The free beans and ice cream are a plus. If you order to go, make sure you double check your order. For some reason they always seem to give me the wrong beans lol. All in all, great food and some of the staff are friendly. Just wish they'd update the menu prices online.
