Mr. Potato Head

Normally a great place to eat just not this day. Food was SUPER greasy to the point of not being able to eat it. Hush puppies were soggy. Unfortunately it was close to 50$ for this meal and most of it went in the trash.

Besides the fact the they were incapable of taking our order, the food was beyond awful. I'm guessing that the grease hasn't been changes in the last year and that our food was cooked hours earlier. If you decide to still go there, good luck!

Typical LJS fare. Again, we don't eat fried much but we were in a hurry and it was easy to get in and out of. However, they opened at 10:30, we got there about 10:45. They said it would be about 5 minutes because they just opened. It was about 15. So..don't be in a hurry if you happen to go early. Also, ask for cocktail sauce. They told us that it was in the bag. Silly us, we didn't check. Drove 45 minutes home and had malt vinegar instead. Yuck! Lol Oh well, order was right, so it was okay.

We originally went to try the advertised specials. They were out. They were out of ALL the special advertised food plates. So we had fish and chips. It was good. The service was adäquate, the employees were friendly. This store is probably one of the original stores as it's been there since the mid 70's that I know of. A very small restaurant, not much seating, but doesn't have that big chain sore feel, it was cozy and the food was good. All in all a good dining experience.

Food was hot and fresh, and service was prompt. A nice place to stop off the loop in Tyler for quick and affordable bite to eat. Some Long John's in these small cities will let you down, but not this one! I would stop there again when I am craving some hot and greasy fish! ☺️

My boyfriend and I always come to LJS when we come to tyler, we were able to dine in today. Ann took our order and delivered our food with impeccable customer service. She was incredibly friendly and welcoming, we were so happy with our experience!

Finally got to dine-in. We won't do drive thru for fish because it gets nasty by the time we get home. Food was good. The cashier was nice. The cook was LOUD!! and made everyone feel uncomfortable. He talked on his phone from the back and we could hear it all from the dining area. Cussing up and all. Then came out from the back trying to joke with several tables about how he cooked our food in Penzoil and stuff like that. Told us they were out of real fish and chicken but he made us fried tuna cuz it was basically the samething. Nobody working with him told him anything so I'm assuming he's LOUD all the time and use to his loudness. Told some lady she needed to go wash the dishes before she could leave and they were elderly. You could tell she was not happy at all him talking all LOUD when we were all just trying to enjoy our food. Other than him acting all wild we enjoyed our food and will try eating there again. We miss eating our Long John Silvers dinners. Thank you for opening up the dining area even though limited hours. We were so happy to see it open again. We live far and hardly come to Tyler.

Wife wanted to try the Lobster bites. Drive up only. Cash only. I ordered the Lobster bites adding the 2piece fish and 2 sides. Fries and cole slaw. $12.98 . I asked for a receipt. Says it's in the bag. It wasn't. Can't complain without a receipt. All in 1 box. 9 small Lobster bites about like the small part of your thumb. Wife says it taste like FISH not Lobster. Fish pieces were rubbery and kind of hard, very greasy. Fries tasted like fish also. Cole Slaw was actually good. Newspaper up to several of the windows. Oh well, live and learn---Don't go back.

The crunchiness of the batter is adventurous.!Cracks and pops in your mouth! Love it! I love the taste of their vinegar and flavor or the tartaaaaaaar sauce after you soak your hush puppies in it and drown your fish in it. Man it’s so good! You pretty much get the whole planet on your plate. Ummm you get a fish, a shrimp, a chicken, and then that cornbread style hush puppy. Meatarian, pescatarian, and then…vegan.
