The food at Mercados was fabulous — truly Tex-Mex comfort done right — and our waitress was an absolute doll.

Unfortunately, the atmosphere was not nearly as appetizing. Before we even started our meal, my husband spotted an actual garden slug (antennae and all) hitching a ride on the Parkay butter bottle. Big “ick” moment. The manager did apologize and swapped it out, but it set the tone in the wrong way....

Just moved to the area and was told about this place. Really cool place and plenty of parking even when it’s busy. We had Melinda as our server and she was great! Very friendly and included the kids in the conversations. I will definitely return again!

A big thank you to Heidi, manager at Mercados Mexican restaurant in Tyler. On July 27, 2025 I stopped in and ordered takeout for one. I explained that I was just getting back into town from a 3 day trip and I was anxiously waiting to get home to see my pets. Heidi took my order, went to the kitchen and within 5 minutes or less she brought it to me. Ready to go! Thank you for taking the time to help me get home a little soon that day.
