This was my first experience with Paleteria Polar and they did not disappoint! The drink, or shaved ice that I had was called the "Diablito" I believe. I wasn't sure what to expect, as I've seen and heard about these desserts covered in candies, chamoy and Tajín, but never tried them. This was a treat I've wanted to try for a while and had no clue what it'd taste like. It was better than what I could have imagined. At the East Texas State Fair I opted for the mango option. It was mango flavored ice, topped with diced mangoes, chamoy (which could be described as a savory red sauce that is sour, sweet, and spicy all in one, adding a beautiful balance of flavor.), Tajín, and candy. They had so many options to choose from, from foods to desserts. The workers were friendly and helpful in answering the questions I had. I plan to try other items on the menu, would absolutely get the "Diablito" again, and would recommend.

It was ok I guess. The agua de papaya had a very plastic flavor, and the chicharrón preparado needs that extra something cause that one was plain flavorless. Yes, I know how it sounds lol. I'll give it a try again, but I'll be mentally prepared on what to expect next time around. Customer attentiveness was below average, so I don't really have an opinion on it.

I will say is that the the food was good but uhad horrible service i didn’t know what one of the raspados had so I ask and then the lady and she didn’t explain she just said what it was and gave me durty looks then my son was wating for his ice cream and i had to tell them to get it for him because the lady and a nother tenage huh we’re laughing and talking .

This place has horrible customer service they act like you're not even there if you're not Mexican. There are many options although creative it's not enough to make up for the really high prices. Almost $10 for some cut up fruit and chili

This place smells odd when you walk in, service was mediocre and the food is super bland. The fruit on display is old and that's what they give to you. Not coming back.
