Prime 102 is our go-to restaurant in Tyler for special nights. We’ve always been well-pleased, until tonight. The food was excellent as usual. However, tonight’s service was very disappointing. Service is what sets fine dining apart from average dining. I asked to substitute an item on the entree, but was told it was not possible. Our appetizer arrived long before our cocktails and our entree arrived long before the wine we ordered to go with the entree. Usually we would have ordered dessert and coffee, but given the length of time we had already waited for other courses, we opted not to. It was a disappointing evening.Edit: I would like to give an update to my previous review. We were contacted by the owner who was genuinely concerned that our dining experience was not up to par. She assured us the problem would be addressed and corrected. Kudos to her for a professional follow-up. We will definitely go back.

On the day of the eclipse, 8Apr2024, I proposed to my Girlfriend during the eclipse at Sulphur Springs and on our way back to Austin we wanted to celebrate at a classy restaurant. Mission accomplished! We couldn’t be happier with Prime 102. I am a steak man and tried the 45 day dry aged ribeye medium rare. Was cooked to perfection. My lady had the double cut pork chop and it was delicious and tender. The attention to detail at this location is outstanding. The starter bread is amazing, croissant like. We enjoyed the pork belly and the jumbo lump crab cake compares to top Baltimore entrees. We ended the evening with the butter cake topped with ice cream and was the perfect end to our meal. Our server, Matt, helped make our evening a night we will always remember. It was a proper celebration. Thank you Matt and Prime 102! I highly recommend this restaurant, especially for celebratory occasions.

Tyler is a growing city and definitely needs more fine dining restaurants. They treated me with amazing care and the butter cake was superior. The atmosphere is top tier dark and romantic setting. Great and strong drinks! Must visit.

I really don’t understand why the reviews of this place look so good but I was so disappointed. We ordered 45 day dry aged steak and it was expensive. Then it tasted like a rotten meat and i only took several bites. I was sick for the whole night after eating that. I gave the leftovers to my dog and even he had diarrhea. It was the worst steak I ever had and this meal cost $290 for two. The service was very slow on Thursday. I was very disappointed. The crab cake was good, but it only comes in one small crab cake for 2 person.

Best food in town, hands down! Five star experience all the way. I'll put this establishment up against the majority of DFW Metro restaurants without a second thought. First, the service is perfect. They are anticipating your needs without being overbearing. Professional and friendly without being too familiar. They know one fork from another but never make you feel like you're being tested. Every morsel was delicious. Portion sizes were perfect. Everything was cooked perfectly and thoughtful plated. The vegetarian option (a delicious cauliflower steak) was NOT an afterthought, like it tends to be at steakhouses. The venue is a gorgeous, historic, art deco building with a 2-story dining area at the top of a dramatic flight of stairs. This was a birthday dinner to remember, and it wasn't even my birthday! Prices: save up and don't ask- just order what you'll enjoy- it's worth the experience.

This place is pretty cool. I guess it was actually part of the bank back in the day. Lots of marble. Despite that, the noise level was not bad.Everything was excellent. I had Sea Bass and Brussel sprouts. But it is very expensive!! I also hoped the portions would be a bit larger. Also, please don't allow people to wear hats in the restaurant!! Parking is at a premium, so be prepared to use valet parking.

On business trip first time going to Prime 102. The food was very good the service was excellent and it was quiet! What more can we ask. One of my guests said it was the best steak he ever had (he had the Ribeye). I had the crab cake dinner and it was excellent and absolutely stuffed with lump crab meat.

We love this restaurant! It is our go to spot for special occasions. Our food was excellent- I had the filet and my husband had the sea bass. We had the butter cake with Mexican vanilla ice cream for his Birthday! The ice cream was out of this world! We will be back!

Great service, great ambiance. Very upscale. Enjoyed our time there. Not to sure about the stairs, but overall a great time and experiance.

Fair warning: the place is dress coded (and we kinda expected that, rolling up in fishing shirts and blue jeans with ball caps on on a random Saturday afternoon). But! The bar is open seating and we were welcomed there. So glad, too, because Ajah took incredible care of us- and the view from the corner table looking over the courthouse is likely better than any view in the main dinning room. Ok, on the table for tonight: crab cake appetizer, a wedge salad and the Cajun tomato soup, filets cooked medium and Brussel sprouts to share. The crab cake was more crab than cake- a top five of our lifetime kinda appetizer! So good! The wedge is DOUBLE DECKER! Cool presentation, crisp salad. The Cajun tomato soup definitely has a kick- it's a robust and flavorful dish! (Quick point: Ajah has done such a great job checking in, clearing the table, keeping our water glasses full- EXCELLENT SERVICE!) The steaks are cooked to perfection - no additional topping needed as the salt and pepper crust and char from the grill make the tenderness of the filet melt in your mouth. And don't pass on the Brussels sprouts- they are crisp, and perfect, and oh so tasty! There was mention of a 23 layer chocolate cake (OMG) but we just don't have space! Delicious- and great service. Main dinning room be damned, we'll come eat at this bar anytime!!
