This BBQ is so good. I was really blown away by the Godfather burger. The hospitality and music were really special. We will definitely be back for more. And the Moonshine Lemonade, how do I say this…….whoo 😁😎 very good.

We stopped into this lovely spot while traveling back to Alabama and boy am I glad we did! The Shaws were funny and friendly and served us up heapin’ portions of bbq brisket and fantastic sweet tea served in mason jars! The rustic decor was an added touch to the beautiful history of the place that they shared with us! Will definitely be back if we pass back through the area!

It is what it is… simply amazing food with spectacular service!! We stopped on our way to Longview for a visit. The ribs? Soooo tender delight falls off the bone with the perfect blend of flavors. Complimented by home made-w- love cold potato salad and delicious baked beans, bread, onion & pickle, the sweet tea is a stand out! The country-kind service delivered a concoction of tea & sugar w a blessing of citrus. Said it was “more sugar than you need all month!”. Served w plenty of ice in a huge canning jar, the elixir may be worth a visit on the flip side.

Didn’t have any food, but I wanted to give a big THANK YOU to Cary for helping me out and looking out for me when my tire popped in front of their restaurant on my way home from school. He was so concerned about me getting out of harms way bc 31 is dangerous road to be stuck on. It’s good to know that even in 2024 total strangers will go out of their way to help someone in need when they really don’t have to. Sweetest guy and very genuine, wishing you and your family the absolute best sir and just letting you know I made it home okay! Thank you again and I’m sure the food is just as great :)

The absolute best BBQ! Great flavor. They are open Thursday thru Sunday 11 am till the meat runs out. Kelly and Cary are the epitome of great owners. Cary can cook meat. And the flavor even without the sauce is amazing. I very highly recommend this place. Just a short drive off interstate 20. Worth the detour. And the tea comes in a mason jar. Wonderful place. You can dine on the patio or take it to go. It is cash only no cards so stop at the ATM. It’s worth it.

Best barbecue I’ve ever had. Service is incredible- my husband and I love stopping by here. The brisket melts in your mouth- sides are great too. Hot links and ribs are incredible. The lemonade and tea moonshine is delicious. Can’t recommend this place enough!!!

Food is very, very good. Do not judge this book by its cover, or you will be missing out on somereally good food. Best to call in your order early. We didn't ?. They were sold out on Ribs. When they run out, that is it. There is no indoor dining. Plan on taking home. Lol and plan on leftovers for the next day. Also, there are no credit cards. Cash or Zelle. I used Zelle. We will be back for sure.

Wowwww! I’m not someone who does reviews normally…but My husband and I have tried numerous BBQ joints looking to find the BEST stuffed baked potato (with a side of ribs)…and WE FINALLY FOUND IT!!!?? It was more than plentiful. The portions were enormous, the brisket taste was amazing, the ribs were smoked and very tender, and the owners were awesome! The restaurant has a nice country store appeal to it.☺️ We are so happy that we no longer have to spend our money on disappointments…HILLTOP HICKORY BBQ will now be our go-to spot when we need a good “stuffed baked potato” fix,lol. If you live in Texas or just visiting…you have to try them before you pass judgement on what real “TEXAS” BBQ tastes like. It was so good, we ate it without BBQ sauce. Realize this…if you have to drown the bbq in sauce for good flavor then that’s not good bbq …that’s just good sauce,lol. So we tried our potatoes and ribs WITHOUT the bbq sauce(like always) and the truth was revealed…FLAVORFUL TASTE THROUGH AND THROUGH! Even so, I don’t doubt that the bbq sauce would’ve been awesome too! Just do yourself a favor and try the meat before adding sauce to it then you’ll see just what I’m talking about. First thing the service was amazing and pleasant the entire time we were there. But the best thing about Hill Top BBQ is the awesome tasting food. It's not often you find a place after the first bite you can tell whoever cooked this meat took their time. Loved the ribs and loaded potato everything was delicious. Over all the best BBQ place we have ate at. Thank y'all for the service and great food..
