Original review (10/04/23): One of the better theaters in town. Always clean, good selection of food, and the drinks are decent price and good also. SMG access account is free and easy to sign up with also. I’d say I haven’t had a bad experience here yet.
Updated Review 01/06/25: dropped to 4 stars. It’s not as clean anymore, they require a mandatory 18% tip on all purchases. Seats are still comfy, had a couple bad experiences with movies not playing correctly but overall not a bad theater.
This place use go be great. But it is run down and dirty. It has a horrible smell.
The seats are uncomfortable and torn and the floors are sticky. Then to popcorn we got was horrible. We asked for no butter and got extra butter. It felt like they ran a whole deal of butter in it. The bag was soaked from butter.
Then the popcorn tasted burnt. So I’m sure they used the butter to try and cover the burnt taste. You get charged 18% gratitude to get 1 drink and your food or snacks. Then when you press the button for someone to comeback and get a refill no one ever comes back in. We definitely will no go back for awhile. I wouldn’t recommend going here until changes are made
Always good
All is good, except their seating. I hope soon they might bring recliners.
This place started out great, but has gone way down hill… the seats are absolutely disgusting.. I would not recommend sitting anything in the cup holders. My arm rest was sticky.. the food is decent at best.. overall just not very comfortable to watch a movie.
So disappointed in Studio Movie Grill. We ordered two drinks, popcorn and potato skins. The cold popcorn was socked in greasy butter, so much we could not eat it. The potato skins were cold and disgusting. $60 for really two drinks. I understand it’s New Year’s Eve but seriously, do better!
Came to the movies hungry to find out they are only serving popcorn. The whole reason we picked here was to eat and watch a movie. Now we have to try and force on a movie with hungry bellies
Food is ok. Theaters are usually dirty and cup holders are never cleaned out. Also, they used to have good red wine selections for Cabernet but now all they offer is Josh which is horrible and not worth the money they charge
Worst experience I’ve ever had. They were out of half of the things on the menu. The service sucked. And the 18% gratuity ridiculous! If you are going to charge that much gratuity you need to be on your A game. And the movie theater was dirty. It doesn’t even look like they clean in between showings! That place has gone dow hill so bad! So disappointed. Me and my family used to love going.
Cup holders in our seats were full of trash and I could have lived with that. Theater smelt like raccoon ankles and I could have lived with that too. Charging me an automatic 18% just for ordering popcorn and drinks for my kids? Nah. You need a tip that bad hit the oil fields.

This is the first time I have left a movie theatre. The manager was kind when I spoke my concerns about the uncleanliness of the theatre, refunded our tickets, and gave us 2 free passes, however we will not being going back. My daughter and I both noticed the smell of mildew right away but tried going to our seats anyway. The trays and cup holders were extremely dirty and the seats still had food and crumbs in them. It was our first and last attempt.
Save your money and go to a different theater. It is really gross to have to sit in seats that are torn up and you can see the yellow foam that makes it up. Why would you make your customer sit in such a foul and disgusting area? This was the top seats of theater eight row J. It is my own damn fault for coming back and thinking that things may have been forgotten better.
Seems fine. No piss or bad smells. I mean cup holders are dirty but jeez? Place has been here for years. Popcorn is good. Needs hotdogs on the menu. Lol.
Saw two movies back to back. First movie, the theater was disgusting. The tray tables looked like they were halfheartedly wiped down with a damp cloth, the cup holder between my husband and I had some kind of science project in it that smelled atrocious. It very much deterred us from ordering anything. The second movie, however, was a redemption arc for sure. The tray tables were much cleaner, the cup holders were cleaned out. We ordered the pretzel bites with beer cheese which were pretty good, followed by the beer cheese brisket sliders (the brisket itself was a bit dry and felt like it was being masked by extra beer cheese), lastly we had the beignets which were the best part of everything. They were light and fluffy and crisped to perfection.
My sons and I went and saw Demon Slayer and had a great experience. The food was good and the theater comfortable.
Be aware though, what you get in food and service takes the place of recliners and heated seats. And there is an automatic service charge of 18% added to your food bill. I'm assuming it's because people don't tip. Considering the food order is placed at your seat, delivered while you're seated and plates taken away while you're seated, it makes sense to tip. But obviously that wasn't happening if they feel the need to charge a service fee. Still we had an all around great experience.
