This review is for the new location. When the best thing you order from a sushi restaurant is the fries, you know to never come back. We ordered two rolls, and didn't finish either one. The rice in our sushi rolls was undercooked and in the wrong proportions. One roll had too much rice and the other had too little. The inside was dirty with several uncleaned tables and a large spill on the floor which stayed untouched by staff the entire time we ate. The staff was friendly and the food came out with a reasonable time, but overall the experience was highly disappointing.

Meh. I've had better pre-packed sushi from the supermarket. My family and I ordered 4 sushi rolls, a poke bowl and noodles to go. First off, we got home and there were three packets of soy sauce. I'm no math whiz, but that doesn't quite seem to cover four whole sushi rolls. The sushi was completely bland. The chicken in the poke bowl was overcooked/dry and had barely any sauce and the noodles were your basic mall tasting variety. Definitely would never go back here. There are other actualy good sushi spots in Tyler.

The place is a wreck, litterly falling apart. The porch roof caved in and is a mess. There is NO a/c the fried rice was super salty and sushi was luke warm. Overall very bad experience.

This use to be our favorite place to eat sushi. But the last few times have not been good. The sushi was poorly put together and tossed into a box. It was dry and tasted awful. This last time we waited almost 40 minutes and it was just tossed together and found a hair in my food. Needless to say we will not be going back.

Great quality sushi! So many options and it's fairly reasonable price wise. I love how close it is to UT Tyler too! The Drive thru option is also pretty neat as well. It sounds sketchy, but it's totally worth it!

Sushi was very average tasting-did not seem very fresh.

My friend and I decided that we wanted to try sushi so we came here for lunch on a Tuesday. This restaurant is a super great place to get sushi and asian food. This was my first time to eat a Cali roll sushi and I loved it! I also loved their veggie spring rolls. My friend got the veggie roll and loved it. The staff are super friendly and kind. The inside was clean and organized so well that you feel welcomed there.

Very small rolls, crab mix very artificial. Pan fried dumplings greasy. Pricey for amount of sushi you get.

The food was good. The service was not the best the AC in the place I've gone out they only had one person preparing the sushi it took over 20 minutes for us to get our food.

I'm sad to not give 5 stars this place has the best potential. The girl named Sunny has messed up my order the last 5 visits. I've gone during very slow times so I know it's not because she's slammed. This last visit she put the wrong fish in my Fresh Prince roll... This was after I had decided to not go back and gave them another try.

I've visited sushi guy 4 times. Twice I've gone in twice through the drive thru. Food takes way to long to be prepared, is overpriced, and frankly not very good. Fish on three of my rolls has been slimy in texture and not fresh tasting. It's much closer to my house than GoFish but I would eat at GoFish every time over this.

The sushi rice was perfectly cooked but under seasoned. The nigiri had way too much rice and not enough fish. The Unagi needed to be seared or roasted. I love that they have so many sauce choices instead of just the same ol spicy mayo and eel sauce. They should toast the sesame seeds. Value is decent. Top notch customer service from Chase and the staff.

It's sushi is good. But like just good. It's kinda just sushi you get when your hungry but there are better places in Tyler. The service is great and there other menu items are good. Overall, not bad.

Sushi Guy is probably my favorite restaurant in Tyler. They are very reasonably priced for the amount of delicious food you get. Plus they're super convenient being right across from campus and as a student it's so much better than the food options on campus.
