I will never go back. The boss took my waiters tip off the table. When I questioned the waiter he said his boss takes all the tips and he never sees a penny but thanked me for the gesture. I confronted the boss. This poor kid can barely speak english and probably feels lucky to have a job. They have lost my respect and my business.

The Veranda is EXCELLENT. My boyfriend had been once before and it was pretty mediocre and we decided not to come back for OK food with 10 - 15 dollar plates. I actually read on Yelp that they got a new chef who was fantastic, so we decided to give it another try. I'm so glad we did!! The main dish had so much flavor and spice. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The only bad thing I can say is the samosa (which I absolutely love normally) was dry and overcooked, other than that I say two thumbs up!

Great lunch buffet. Had a nice variety for a nice price. Loved the butter chicken and garlic naan! I am so bummed out I didn't find this place until right before I moved away! :(

Having just moved to Tyler, and being a huge fan of Indian food, I have been craving Indian for weeks. I was a little skeptical of Veranda, since it's in a hotel, as well as the only Indian place in the entire city, but I was extremely impressed by the quality of the buffet. I would eat here even if it wasn't the only Indian place in Tyler. Highly recommend.

I think they got a new chef. Nothing great. No real variety. The paneer curry was salty, chicken was not soft. The paneer cutlet and the naan were the only items that was good. The chef was friendly but still the same rude owners. Heard the owner yell at their people when the customers were present.

If you like Indian food, you owe it to yourself to visit the Veranda. It's attached to the Ramada Inn, but for that the decor manages to add some local color. We actually waited quite a long time to put in our order, but the server explained that he'd been taking a large phone order, and he was so genuinely apologetic that it was easily forgiven, and once we got rolling the service was excellent. The food was spectacular from start to finish. We ordered a variety of pakoda (fried dumpling) appetizers, and they were all fantastic. Our server asked whether we wanted our entrees mild, medium, or spicy. I ordered my saag chicken medium, but I tasted my friends' spicy chicken curry and spicy butter chicken, and the spice was powerful without completely overwhelming the taste buds. The rice, naan, and dipping sauces were fantastic. The prices seemed high at first, but the adequate portion sizes and superb quality more than make up for it. I will certainly be back.

Might be the best naan I've ever had. The butter chicken was very good, I should have ordered a little spicier, a solid A.

The wife and I are big fans of the naan and the butter chicken. We appreciate the spicier dishes as well, but only in moderation! Waitstaff has always been attentive and pleasant.

Since moving to East Texas my wife and I have been really missing the assortment of ethnic food we were used to. I found out there was an Indian restaurant in Tyler so drove up over the weekend to get my fix. The restaurant we were looking for had closed down a few months prior but I managed to find The Veranda on UrbanSpoon.com (I'm sure I could have found it here too!) and settled in for dinner. What a wonderful surprise! We ordered the chicken vindaloo and one of the paneer dishes (I think Mattar Paneer) and experienced one of the best Indian dinners we've had. All of the food was good and the staff were friendly and helpful. I will absolutely be making the 90 mile drive again to replicate this experience.

All the food is excellent and authentic. My favorites are the Chicken Tikka Masala and Butter Chicken and Potato Curry dishes. The rice pudding is excellent and the mint chutney goes great with Samosas. I've yet to go for dinner, only lunch buffet. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the prices are on the high side. But if you are craving Indian, it's worth the price.

Fantastic! So happy to have good Indian food in Tyler. We usually go to the buffet at lunch and everything I've had is delicious. Service is great too. Despite being a bit understaffed, your glass is always full and the waiter is always pleasant.

Excellent food! Prices are decent and there's never a wait to be seated. Try the butter chicken with rice and paratha-delicious! Chicken is so tender, no bones, all white meat. If you like indian food you won't be disappointed!
